Fairlawn 2nd graders recently celebrated their “Pumpkin Day,” an ongoing tradition here at Fairlawn. Students, with the help of our wonderful parent and family volunteers, and, of course, their wonderful teachers, connected the fun of Halloween with math and science. On our early dismissal day, Lakewood Park kindergarten students turned into engineers during STOP and STEM Day! The day began with an exciting question: What does an engineer do? Students learned that engineers solve problems—and then they were given one of their own.
