Commissioner’s Academic Challenge

On Friday, January 27th, all six comprehensive high schools competed in the District Commissioner’s Academic Challenge which consisted of two question rounds. Port St. Lucie High School HOSA Students Going to State Competition!

Congratulations to the PSLHS HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) club and their mentor Mrs. Jacklyn Cebelak for their OUTSTANDING success at the HOSA Regional Competition in West Palm Beach! 12 out of 15 students placed and will move forward to the state competition in Orlando this April. Palm Pointe Rockets Soar to STEM Success

Some of Palm Pointe’s middle school students participated in the Regional STEM Fair held at IRSC on January 13th. We are so proud of our school representatives. They presented proudly and showcased their hard work to the judges throughout the day. Way to go Rockets!

Ringmasters of Learning at Palm Pointe

Students and parents had a great time becoming the “ringmasters” of their 7th Grade content at Palm Pointe’s 7th Grade Family Carnival. Students participated in “Escape 7th Grade,” a Civics Escape Room on the Articles of Confederation. Students also solved math problems to pop balloons for prizes, answered text-based questions in ELA to “go fish,” and made a laser maze in Science. Thanks to all who joined us!

The Jaguar Battalion Wins Again

On January 20th, 2023, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion traveled to Santaluces High School to participate in the Drill Competition. The females placed 1st in Unarmed Squad, 1st in Armed Squad, 1st in Color Guard, 2nd in Female Dual Exhibition, 2nd in Female Solo Exhibition, and 1st in Let 1 Squad. The Male team placed 1st in Unarmed Squad, 1st in Armed Squad, 1st in Solo Exhibition, and 1st in Dual Exhibition. Overall, the Jaguar Battalion performed great and won 1st place overall.

Port St. Lucie High School Drama Department Successfully Opens “Anything Goes”

Port St. Lucie High School is always proud of its amazing Drama Department, led by Mr. Patrick Madden. If you haven’t been to a show at Port St. Lucie High School, you are missing out! The Winter Production of “Anything Goes” is underway and Opening Night was a grand success! “Just amazing,” one audience member said. “I thought I was sitting at a Broadway show,” said another. Congratulations to Mr. Madden and his ALL-STAR cast and crew!

SLW Centennial NJROTC Competes in Florida State Brain Brawl Academic Championships.

  SLW Centennial’s Navy JROTC Black Talon unit competed in the Florida State Area 7 NJROTC Brain Brawl Academic Championships this past weekend on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, hosted by Gaither High School, in Tampa, Florida. “Alpha” team, c/LCDR Aidan Rossell, c/SCPO Sean Stewart, c/PO2 Jannaya Grant, c/SR Hei Chu and c/LTjg Jade Sikorski, placed 16th out of 32 teams, making it to the semi-finals before being eliminated. “Bravo” Team, c/ENS Casey Scott, c/LT Peyton Mangine, c/SN Nolan Hamel, c/ENS Faith Miller, and c/PO2 Mayreeana Neston, placed 24th out of 32 teams. Palm Pointe Students Have a “BALL” During Literacy Week

Mrs. Migliore’s class had a BALL having a vocabulary word “SNOWBALL” fight!  Students threw paper with vocabulary words from their reading unit across the room, they then had to grab another ball, open it, and explain that word to their partner. Fun was had by all! Additionally, to celebrate Literacy Week, 3rd-grade students in Mrs. Van Allen’s class buddied up with 1st graders in Mrs. Migliore’s class for some buddy reading. Students took turns reading their favorite books and shared some of their reading poems. It was a great afternoon!

Jaguar Battalions 28th Annual Military Ball

On Saturday, January 22nd, 2023, Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted its 28th Annual Military Ball at the Santa Lucia River Club. Male cadets wore their Class A Uniform, and female cadets came in formal gowns. Our Jaguar Battalion Color Guard posted the colors to begin the formal portion of the ceremony. Commanding the Color Guard was Cadet Major Alex Daly-Gomes as National Flag Bearer, accompanied by Cadet Captain Isaac Mendez as State Flag Bearer, Cadet Sergeant Major Alex Moleon as Right Guard, and Cadet 1st Lieutenant Jordan Harris as Left Guard. SLW Centennial NAVY JRTOC Wins 1st Place!

The SLW Centennial High School’s Navy JROTC “Black Talon” Unit competed in the Lake Howell High School’s NJROTC “Silverhawk” Showdown Drill Meet against 15 other NJRTOC units.  The field meet competition is composed of Academic, Drill, Physical Fitness, and Personnel Inspection.  The SLW Centennial “Black Talon” won 1st Place in the Personnel Inspection portion of the Field Meet Competition!
