At Bayshore Elementary, our Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students had an exciting and uplifting pep rally designed to build confidence and motivation as they prepare for testing! Bayshore Elementary proudly celebrated academic excellence during its Quarter 3 Honor Roll Assembly, recognizing the hard work and dedication of students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Students were honored in three categories: Honor Roll for earning all A’s and B’s, Principal’s Honor Roll for achieving all A’s, and maintaining strong behavior grades as an essential part of their success. Bayshore Elementary recently hosted a successful Student‑Led Conference, providing an opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning and share their progress with their families. Two sessions were held to support all grade levels, including VPK–2 and grades 3–5. Parents were invited to meet with their children to review their academic work and data. Each student prepared a folder containing unit assessments, i‑Ready data, PM data, and samples of classwork. Bayshore Elementary recently celebrated positive choices with a PBIS Quarter 3 Positive Behavior Celebration! This special event recognized all students who earned zero BIRs (Behavior Incident Referrals) and zero ODRs (Office Discipline Referrals) during the third quarter. Bayshore’s incredible cafeteria staff went above and beyond by transforming the entire lunchroom into an exciting video‑game world inspired by Super Mario. This creative makeover has turned each day into a playful adventure where students can “power up” their choices and practice positive behavior. By making healthy food choices, students earn Power Ups, and by showing kindness and respect, they can collect coins in the form of 0, 3, or 5 points. Science was bright and loud in 5th-grade at Bayshore Elementary as students explored the fascinating world of light and sound energy. Using flashlights, prisms, and both light and dark cloths, students investigated how light travels in straight lines and how it can be reflected, refracted, or absorbed. They observed firsthand how light behaves differently depending on the materials it encounters, which sparked thoughtful discussions and plenty of curiosity. Students who achieved perfect attendance for both Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 were invited to celebrate their outstanding commitment. Each student received a glow stick and a special Perfect Attendance tag to mark their accomplishment. Bayshore Elementary wrapped up Literacy Week with a fun and memorable Storybook Character and Scientific Vocabulary Parade! Students showed off their creativity by dressing as their favorite storybook characters or transforming into vivid scientific vocabulary words. We had an amazing time hosting our Crafts with Counselors event after school! Fifty students joined us for a fun-filled evening of creativity and holiday cheer. Students rotated through craft centers, making Christmas trees out of cones and icing, designing ornaments, and coloring festive pages. They also enjoyed taking pictures in front of a beautiful Christmas backdrop! After the crafts, everyone gathered to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas while enjoying pizza, chips, and drinks. Bayshore Elementary had an unforgettable Spirit Week filled with creativity, color, and fun! Each day celebrated a different theme, and students showed up dressed to impress. Monday kicked off with groovy styles from the 1960s and 1970s. On Tuesday, neon and bold patterns lit up the halls for 1980s Day. Wednesday brought back the trends of the 1990s and early 2000s.
