The Second-Grade Sharks at St. Lucie West K-8 had a sweet learning adventure! In Mrs. Yancy and Ms. Roberts’ class, students practiced multiplication by creating equal groups using Oreos and mini M&M’s. Talk about a delicious way to learn! As they counted, grouped, and multiplied, smiles were everywhere. The hands-on activity made math exciting, engaging, and oh-so-tasty! Students eagerly demonstrated their understanding while enjoying a fun treat. These Sharks showed great teamwork, focus, and enthusiasm while building their skills. Who knew multiplication could be this fun? Way to go, Second Grade Sharks—learning really is sweeter with a little chocolate!

Mrs. Bohams’ Intro to Technology middle school students learned CAD software to create 3D printed models. Then used their skills to talk to clients on campus and at home to design an object to fill a need or solve a problem. Students learned about coworker and client communication skills to discuss their plans with their client. They use a client contract to clarify a written description and a detailed sketch to finalize their plan, so both parties agree to the project. Fort Pierce Central High School recently celebrated the remarkable career of Mrs. Kelly with a gathering to honor her 46 years of dedicated service in education. Faculty, staff, family, and friends came together to recognize an educator whose impact has spanned generations of students and colleagues. During the celebration, Mrs. Kelly was presented with the Distinguished Cobra Award by Mr. Gardner, recognizing her outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to the school community. Congratulations to Ms. Hernandez’s Morning Class! Ms. Hernandez’s third-grade morning class students celebrated having the most “green faces” for the year in Mr. Adam’s elementary music class with a Kona Ice party during their last music class. Out of all of the elementary music classes, this class followed the music classroom rules the best. They earned a “green face” every time they had music class this year. EKGs are required for first-time high school student athletes in the 2026-27 school year.  Specifically, this requirement applies to students participating in high school athletics for the first time, including incoming 9th-grade student-athletes, and students in grades 10–12 who have not previously participated in an FHSAA-sanctioned sport. Students who have already participated in a high school sport are not required to obtain an EKG at this time; however, obtaining one is strongly recommended as a best practice for student health and safety. What a fun-filled celebration for students who demonstrated positive behavior, kindness, and responsibility throughout the school year.
