Ahoy Parkway Pirates! Our Pirate Trading Post is Now Open!

Parkway Elementary students are getting real-life experience using our Class Dojo token economy system!  Students are “shopping” our Pirate Trading Post during their media resource class, where students spend their dojo points on a variety of prizes.  Students can earn Class Dojo points every day here at Parkway just for demonstrating PBIS school-wide behavior expectations.

Parkway Elementary Science Students ENGAGE, EXPLORE, and EXPLAIN with Mr. Lewis!

Mr. Lewis’ Science classes were learning about invertebrates and the five groups of vertebrates. We learned most invertebrates are categorized as Arthropods, meaning segmented or jointed. Students explored once-living specimens, preserved in resin. After getting over the shock of holding an insect, crustacean, myriapod, or arachnid, students were able to identify the specimens using their expository journal notes.

Parkway Pirates Rockin’ with Andy!

Andy the Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse visited the Kindergarten classes with a yummy treat! Students enjoyed warm bread with friends because they were the winners in our Texas Roadhouse fundraiser. Andy the Armadillo was rocking after lunch when he joined the Pre-K-2nd grade Back to School Dance!

Parkway First-Grade Garden

Ahoy Pirates! First-grade started a garden at Parkway Elementary! Our inspiring first-grade teachers kicked off the explorative science unit by conducting class outside. Students were engaged with hands-on investigations of plants, plant parts, living things, and even designing and constructing a garden. This year-long project will allow students to raise questions about the natural world, make observations, keep records of investigations, and generate appropriate explanations based on these explorations. Also, it was a lot of fun! #stemforkids #schoolgarden #MathandScience #ParwayElementarySchool #stlucieschools

Oak Hammock K-8 Hosted “Veterans and First Responders Salute & Tunnel of Hope”

We had the most memorable event celebrating our Veterans and First Responders at Oak Hammock K-8 School. It was a privilege to welcome our guests to enjoy Mrs. Isenhower’s Band Performance, Mrs. Allen’s Choir, and Operation Osprey Cadets Color Guard led by Mrs. Bozzo. It was an honor for  First Responders and community Veterans to receive appreciation and love from our students, faculty, and staff. Thank you to all families who celebrated this day with us. The patriotism and support from the next generation of leaders, our students, has inspired all of us to continue building unity among our community. … Read More
