Southport Middle School Participated in the 8th-Grade Experience

Several 8th-grade students from Southport Middle School recently participated in the “8th-Grade Experience” at the St. Lucie Public Schools District Office, an event designed to introduce students to real-world career opportunities.  SPMS was proud to participate in this Classrooms2Careers initiative. During this interactive program, students engaged with professionals from a wide range of industries, including finance, construction, boating, healthcare, and law enforcement. Each station offered hands-on activities that allowed students to explore the skills and tools used in these fields, sparking curiosity and encouraging career awareness. The experience provided valuable insight into diverse occupations, helping students connect classroom learning to future goals. By interacting directly with local business representatives, students gained a deeper understanding of potential career paths and the importance of education in achieving success. This event was an inspiring opportunity for students to envision their futures and begin planning for high school and beyond.
