St. Lucie West Centennial High School ProStart Students Rise to the Challenge

Students in our ProStart culinary program are making the most of their current unit on breads, turning even the trickiest parts of culinary math and baking conversions into an opportunity for creativity and growth.

This week, the class prepared overnight focaccia bread, producing beautifully crafted loaves that were as impressive in flavor as they were in presentation. Their attention to detail and artistic designs truly showcased their developing culinary skills.

In addition, students baked three varieties of specialty loaves:

  • Double Chocolate Loaf
  • Vanilla Pound Cake
  • Lemon Pound Cake

Each recipe allowed them to explore different techniques while building confidence in the kitchen. Their enthusiasm and dedication were evident in every bake, making this a standout week in the ProStart program.
