BIG excitement for our 5th Grade Blue Jays! Morningside Elementary School 5th Grade Blue Jays brought incredible energy and curiosity to Saturday with Scientists! Five outstanding students jumped into hands‑on labs, exploring Biologist DNA Extraction, Paleontology, and Robotics. Blue Jay Pride Soars! Morningside Elementary is beyond proud to congratulate our incredible Odyssey of the Mind Team on their 1st Place win at States! Morningside was so proud to cheer on our five Odyssey of the Mind teams as they competed at Regionals. A Day of Discovery and New Beginnings at Morningside Mrs. Eibl’s 2nd graders brought their Life Cycles study to life as they watched tiny chicks hatch right in their classroom. Through hands-on embryology, students carefully observed each stage of development, recorded their findings in journals, and asked thoughtful questions that showed growing understanding. They were excited to see science unfold before their eyes and make real-world connections. Once the chicks arrived, the class proudly chose names for their new feathered friends. The day blended curiosity, responsibility, and joy, creating a memorable learning experience that the students will never forget.  

Morningside Elementary Students Explore in Science Resource

In Mrs. Rodriguez’s Science Resource class at Morningside Elementary, students are diving into an engaging hands-on investigation of the properties and states of matter. Working collaboratively, they explore how different materials compare in both volume and mass by using a variety of measurement tools and recording their data. Students practice scientific skills with instruments such as graduated cylinders for measuring liquid volume, triple-beam balances and digital scales for determining mass, and beakers and measuring cups to observe changes and record precise measurements. Morningside Elementary School proudly kicked off Kindness Week today with a schoolwide celebration focused on compassion and community. Every student took part by signing our large Kindness Quilt, symbolizing our shared commitment to treating one another with respect and empathy. Students wrote messages of kindness on paper chain links. We also launched our collection drive for Grace Packs, gathering Granola and Nutri‑Grain bars to support children in need throughout our community.
