The culinary program at SLW Centennial High School welcomed North Port Middle School students for a special Thanksgiving meal. This event aimed to showcase the culinary program and inspire future enrollment. The middle school students enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the high school culinary students, giving them a taste of what the program has to offer. During the visit, the middle schoolers participated in a fun activity where they wrote fun facts about each other on recipe sheets. Shark Nation’s Color Run was a very bright success! St. Lucie West K8 students participated in the 2024 Annual Color Run and had an absolute blast. The fundraiser helped raise funds for teacher, staff, and student incentives. Students designed their Color Run flags to proudly represent their class! Careers In Construction Day at PBPA

On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Treasure Coast Builders Association came out to put on a Careers in Construction Day. This event was created to show our students the various careers that are available in our area. Our Stallions moved through 5 different stations ranging from Electrical, Carpentry, Screen Enclosure, Impact Door/Window installation, and our very own SLPS Transporation station regarding Diesel Mechanics. Students spent the morning learning about each career and participating in hands-on events.  At the end of the event, students learned more about professionalism in the workplace.

A BIG Shout Out goes to the Cadets from the Fort Pierce Westwood Army JROTC Program for volunteering their time to support an incredibly worthwhile cause (while also starting off the Thanksgiving Holiday in a great way). First Grade Acaletics at Lakewood Park

Each day, through Acaletics, first-grade teachers at Lakewood Park introduce and expose students to a variety of math concepts. Sometimes students see a concept for the first time and use mathematical thinking and reasoning to solve it.  Other times, students revisit a previously taught skill and are tasked with choosing their own strategy to solve. “Let’s Share & Care” VGESS Thanksgiving Food Drive

Village Green Environmental Studies School hosted a successful food drive to help our school families in need over the holiday season. Mrs. Collins, Mrs. Christopher, Mrs. Dressel, Mrs. Francois, Mrs. Hood, and Mrs. Johnson collected non-perishable food items over the past two weeks to help benefit many of our VGESS families! The grade level with the most donations earned of items earned extra recess time and get to play BINGO in the cafeteria. Thank you to our Coaches and Guidance Counselors for organizing this food drive for our families, this was a great way to kick off the holiday season!

Huge praise goes to the Fort Pierce Westwood Army JROTC Raider Team for not only their performance at the State Raider Finals, but for their entire “Raider Season” as a whole. PSLHS Army JROTC Shines at States

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalions Male and Female Teams traveled to Brooksville, Florida to compete in the Army JROTC High School State Championships on November 16th. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3.1 mile run, a 1-mile litter carry, tire flip, and a Fitness challenge, as well as constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion competed against the top 40 Army JROTC Program in the state of Florida.  The Male team finished 11th place overall, and Female team placed 10th overall. Congratulations, Males and Females, for such an amazing raider season. 

FPC’s Marching Cobras Storm the Courtyard

On Friday Cobra Nation’s courtyard was filled with the spectacular sound from our talented band students. Under the masterful direction of Mr. Gabin, the band delivered a show-stopping medley of songs that had both lunch periods savoring every moment. Students couldn’t resist recording the rhythm, spontaneously dancing, and tapping their toes to the dynamic performance.
