Criminal Justice Students Explore Public Safety Complex

The Criminal Justice 1 students of SLW Centennial High School got to go on an educational field trip to Indian River State College (IRSC), where they visit the Public Safety Complex. The trip provided the students with an invaluable opportunity to engage in hands-on activities and gain practical insights into various aspects of public safety and law enforcement.

During their visit, students participated in a range of interactive exercises, including police tactics, crime scene investigation, and fingerprinting. These activities allowed them to experience firsthand the skills and techniques used by professionals in the field. Additionally, students learned about the Promise Program, which offers guidance on how to apply and pursue a career in public safety.

This field trip was an enriching experience that enhanced the students’ understanding of criminal justice and inspired many to consider future careers in law enforcement.
