Village Green’s Student Council members, supporting 5th graders and their parents/guardians, joined the Annual Caring Community Cleanup Day that was held- Saturday, April 5th, 2025. The cleanup commenced at City Hall with breakfast and orientation, then volunteers dispersed to their chosen location. As a group, we agreed that charity starts at home, and therefore we chose Leonard Road and areas around our school to clean. It was hot, but the volunteers did not succumb to the heat, we persevered by having fun and enjoying each other’s company. Special thanks to the following students- Emma Conway (Student Council Secretary), Isis Fenty, Ava Guillaume, Ava Saintal, Reyanne Sterling, Ralee Perkins; and our parents Mr. Rick Conway, Mrs. Joann Fenty, Mrs. Joyce Guillaume, Mr. Jean Saintal, Mrs. Deloris Murray-Sterling and others. The volume of trash that we collected shows the dire need for this location to be adopted by an organization. As such, the Student Council Committee, in conjunction with Village Green, should consider this great undertaking. We are “World Changers” making a difference and keeping our community clean by picking up one piece of trash at a time.
