On August 23rd, 2024, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion cadets participated in the first parking detail honor guard for the senior nights home football game against Royal Palm High School. They directed traffic to the appropriate parking lot, carrying out their task efficiently. This was our busiest game and many obstacles occurred like the amount of parking spaces that were available, which resulted in having to park cars in the grass. On Friday August 9th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion aided the incoming freshmen at open house. This was the school’s first event, the following cadets; MAJ Rebecca Guison as right guard, Cadet MAJ Sariely Yanez as state flag, Cadet CPT Alex Franchi as American Flag, and MAJ Gabriela Gomez as Left Guard, were all honored to present the colors. The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Drill Team competed in Santaluces High School Drill Competition against six other schools on January 19th. The competition consisted of Armed Squad, Unarmed Squad, male individual Exhibition, female Individual Exhibition, Let one squad, Male/Mixed dual exhibition, and Color Guard. On Saturday, February 3rd, the Jaguar Battalion traveled to Dwyer High School. Our Female and Male Teams competed in an Unarmed/Armed Squad, Color Guard, and Exhibition duo/solo. PSL ended up placing 2nd in Female Armed Squad, 1st in Female Unarmed Squad, 2nd in Female duo exhibition, 1st in female Color Guard, and 1st in solo exhibition. On Friday, December 19th, 2023, the Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s Marksmanship Team competed at Santaluces High School for the Area 3 Air Rifle Match. Our cadets: First Lieutenant Yurem Garcia, Private First class Briannna Locklar, Corporal James White, and Private Kohl Aguilar competed against twelve other schools from three counties and overall placed 4th. Sadly, since the marksmanship team won’t be competing in the states rifle meet, the marksmanship season is over till next year. Thank you to our marksmen and our supportive parents.
Every year, the Port Saint Lucie JROTC program has the privilege to work with Guardians for New Futures and Communities Connected for Kids, to collect toys for kids during the holiday season. Port Saint Lucie High School staff and JROTC cadets sponsored 20 kids to make sure they have a memorable holiday season. Thanks to the efforts of our teachers, staff, and booster club parents, we were able to collect 60 gifts this year.
The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalions Male Team attended the States Raider meet at Hudson High School on December 2nd. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3-mile run, 1.25 -mile litter carry, Kettle bell carry, an obstacle course as well as constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Males brought home a 3rd place trophy in rope bridge and placed 5th overall in the state. In the end, the Male team had a great time participating in such an honorable event such as states. Lastly, congratulations Males for such an amazing raider season.
On Saturday, November 18th, 29 cadets from the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Battalion hosted a beach cleanup at Dollman Beach, which consisted of the cadets being split into 2 teams such as parking and beach team. In the end, the cadets were able to pick up over 200 pounds of garbage and had a great time cleaning up the beach.
Over Thanksgiving break, Cadets from the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion partnered with the Big Heart Brigade and prepared thousands of pounds of food for Thanksgiving Day. Our Cadets worked 2-hour shifts where they prepared food 3 days prior to Thanksgiving, then packaged food during a 3-hour shift on Thanksgiving morning. The cadets had a great time helping the community with such a meaningful event.
On Tuesday, November 14, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted our second Blood Drive of the year. With the help of our Cadets, we were given an opportunity to help serve the people of Port Saint Lucie. Thanks to our Cadets, members of One Blood, and teachers here at Port Saint Lucie High School, we were able to get enough blood to save over 150+ lives. Also special thanks to our principal Ms. Nicole Telese and other teachers who donated.

On Saturday, November 11th, all cadets from the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion participated in the Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park to honor veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. Everyone was gathered at 1030hrs (10:30 AM) in formation as they spoke about the history and importance of Veterans Day. The cadets were honored to pay respect to our veterans.

On Sunday, October 22nd , the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted a Color Guard for the Professional Golfers Association at their golf course in St. Lucie West. Our cadets opened the ceremony with the national anthem sung by Dave Bray. The event was the 15th Annual Liberty Mutual Invitational Benefiting Caddy For a Cure. On Friday, September 15th, the Port Saint Lucie Jaguar Battalion attended the POW/MIA Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action. Cadets were given a candle to light while guest speaker Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Army Bobbie Williams spoke about the powerful sacrifice from the POW/MIA’s. Cadets were also able to witness the unveiling of the POW/MIA chair which symbolizes those who have not returned. It was a great success for all of the cadets that attended.
