The Jaguar Battalion’s 31st Annual Award Ceremony

On Thursday, March 27th, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion held its 31st Annual Award Ceremony. The purpose of this award ceremony was to award deserving Cadets for their service, loyalty, personal appearance, character, and knowledge of JROTC, as well as their outstanding achievements in and outside of the program. Select Cadets were recognized by different Veteran organizations such as MOAA, Vietnam Veterans of America, Korean War Veterans, etc…More awards are also given to the cadets during the company.  The ceremony was a success as there were 38 awards given to honorary cadets for their outstanding achievements.

Jags Going to States Once Again

On Saturday, March 1st, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s Drill Team competed in its AREA 3 Regional Drill Meet hosted at our school, Port St. Lucie High School. This is the most important drill meet of the season because it determines if the team will advance to the state competition. The Jaguar Battalion’s 30th Military Ball

On Saturday, January 25th, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted its 30th Annual Military Ball at the Santa Lucia River Club. Male Cadets wore their Class A Uniform, and female cadets wore formal gowns. Our Jaguar Battalion Color Guard posted the colors to begin the formal portion of the ceremony. Jaguar Battalion Participates in the MLK Parade

On Monday, January 20th, 2025, The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion participated in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade. This parade aimed to showcase Martin Luther King’s importance and accomplishments. Nearly 150 cadets attended and marched at this parade for 2 miles. The color guard presented the colors, cadets marched with the battalion colors, marched with the state flags and cadets held the banner leading not only the Jaguar battalion but the Port St. Lucie High School. JROTC Jaguars Sponsors the Holiday Toy Drive

Every year, the Port Saint Lucie JROTC program has the privilege of working with Guardians for New Futures and Communities Connected for Kids to collect toys during the holiday season. Port Saint Lucie High School staff and JROTC cadets sponsored 25 kids, giving 3 toys each to ensure a memorable holiday season. Thanks to the efforts of our teachers, staff, and booster club parents, we were able to collect 75 gifts this year, and looking forward to seeing these kids open these presents on Christmas morning. PSLHS Army JROTC Shines at States

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalions Male and Female Teams traveled to Brooksville, Florida to compete in the Army JROTC High School State Championships on November 16th. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3.1 mile run, a 1-mile litter carry, tire flip, and a Fitness challenge, as well as constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion competed against the top 40 Army JROTC Program in the state of Florida.  The Male team finished 11th place overall, and Female team placed 10th overall. Congratulations, Males and Females, for such an amazing raider season. 

The Jaguar Battalion Continues to Save Lives

On Thursday, November 14th, 2024, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted our first Blood Drive of the year. A total of 35 students, teachers, and staff contributed to help save 150+ lives to support the One Blood cause. The cadets that were chosen to help One Blood were assigned different roles, such as the two cadets checking in the students to make sure they were eligible to donate, the “runners” to go out and get the students from class, and lastly, the recovery room to watch and assist whoever donated. Jaguars Honor the Veterans

On Saturday, November 11th, 2024, all of the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s cadets participated in the Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park to honor veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. Everyone gathered at 1030hrs (10:30 AM) and began the ceremony at 1100hrs (11:00 AM). The cadets gathered in the formation with their company while they learned the history and importance of Veterans Day. The cadets were honored to pay their respects to the veterans and to be part of such an important event. 

Port St Lucie Highschool Qualifies for Raider States

The Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion participated in the Area 3 state qualifier Raider Meet on November 2nd. The Jaguar Raider Cadets were among 12 schools from across the area. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.5-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, obstacle course, fitness test, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Mixed team finished 4th overall, the Male team finished 2nd, and the Female team finished 1st place overall and will be representing PSLHS at states at the Florida State Raider competition in Brooksville, Florida , on November 16th!  

The Jaguar Battalion’s Homecoming Color Guard

 On October 18th, 2024, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion presented the Colors at the Homecoming football game, against South Fork High School. Commanding the Color Guard was National Flag Bearer, Cadet Command Sergeant Major Sharkeisha Johnson, accompanied by Cadet Captain Alex Franchi as State Flag Bearer, Cadet Sergeant Hunter Gale as Right Guard, and Cadet First Sergeant Axel Andrade as Left Guard.  

The Port St. Lucie Jaguars Conquer Once Again

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed at the Jupiter Raider Meet at Jupiter High School on October 19th. Port St. Lucie High School was amongst 11 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, 35-pound kettlebell carry, a fitness challenge, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Female and Male team captured 1st place overall, keeping a streak of 2 competitions in a row. Both teams and the mixed team will compete in the Southfork High School Raider Meet on October 26th at Southfork High School. 

The Jaguar Battalion 1st Raider Meet

The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion hosted the First Raider Meet of the season on October 5th, 2024. The cadets who volunteered to help run the raider meet had an essential role in making sure the raider meet went smoothly.  The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, 35-pound kettlebell carry, fitness challenge. Overall, the Battalion’s Male and Female team finished 1st overall and the Mixed team finished 1st in fitness challenge. All three teams will compete in the South Fork Raider Meet on October 12th with expectations to keep our winning streak going. 

Port St. Lucie High School Shines

On Saturday, September 28th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted their first car wash of the school year at O’Reilly’s, located off US-1. Cadets were placed in different stations, such as the washing, drying, and sign–holding stations. Overall, the cadets were able to work as a team to showcase their leadership skills as they completed their tasks.

Honoring Our POW/MIA’S

On Friday, September 20th, the Port Saint Lucie Jaguar Battalion attended the POW/MIA Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park to honor prisoners of war (POW) and those missing in action (MIA). Cadets were given a candle to light while a veteran spoke about the powerful sacrifice that the POW/MIA’s endured. The 58 cadets that attended were also able to witness the POW/MIA chair, symbolizing those who have not returned. It was a great honor for all the cadets that attended.

Jaguars Against the Traffic

On August 23rd, 2024, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion cadets participated in the first parking detail honor guard for the senior nights home football game against Royal Palm High School. They directed traffic to the appropriate parking lot, carrying out their task efficiently. This was our busiest game and many obstacles occurred like the amount of parking spaces that were available, which resulted in having to park cars in the grass. The cadets ran this event smoothly with the help of our battalion’s booster club parents. Welcoming New Cadets

On Friday August 9th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion aided the incoming freshmen at open house. This was the school’s first event, the following cadets; MAJ Rebecca Guison as right guard, Cadet MAJ Sariely Yanez as state flag, Cadet CPT Alex Franchi as American Flag, and MAJ Gabriela Gomez as Left Guard, were all honored to present the colors. On Saturday, May 11th, The Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted their annual Field Day. All four Companies competed in a series of athletic events which included Tug of War, Jag Ball, Soccer, Kickball, Dodgeball, Volleyball, and Basketball being the tie breaker, and introducing our new event Bombs Away. Cadets were given a competitive opportunity to showcase their skills against other companies. The Jaguar Battalion Takes a Trip to Aquatica

On Saturday April 27th, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted our yearly end-of-the-year trip to Aquatica in Orlando, Florida. The cadets stayed overnight in a hotel and left on Sunday, April 28th. Cadets spent a day riding popular rides like the “KareKare Curl” and “RayRush”. The cadets dined at many fabulous restaurants such as “Waterstone Grill” and “Mango Market”. Jaguar Battalion Change of Command

On Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30 PM, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted our Annual Change of Command Ceremony, Relinquishing the current Battalion Commander c/LTC Michael Coccaro of his duty and welcoming c/LTC Tamiya Ferguson to command and lead the Jaguar Battalion on a successful path for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
