On Saturday 21st, 10 LPA Key Club members (Lucia, Elena, Lilly, Katherine, Jaeda, Angelyka, Jenna, Rowan, Jaden, Damon, Mrs. Cassella, and Mrs. Peterson) prepared an area for sunflower seeds to be planted at the First Church Community Garden Project. The members pulled the weeds, covered the land with shells, and planted the seeds. We will be back on Oct 5th to plant vegetables and fruits which will feed the local community.

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has announced the new members of the 2024-2025 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This year, the FHSAA will be welcoming in nine new students into the committee, along with seven returning members. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) was established in 2008. The committee serves as a critical link in identifying topics, issues, and concerns that face the student-athletes of the State of Florida. NHS attended its first Adopt a Road for this school year. Our members enjoy helping to keep our community clean and safe.
September 4th, the LPA Key Club had its first meeting with over 90 members in attendance. Key Club community sponsors as well as partners were also in attendance. New members were able to learn more about the mission as well as learn about future volunteering opportunities. The next meeting is October 4th. It was an amazing way to start the year!
Twelve Key Club members (Rowan Crandall, Roselyn Crandall, Sydney Daniel, Gabriel Guarnizo, Damon Harris, Jeremiah Henderson, Malachi Henderson, Gilberto Mendez, Isabela Mohindroo, Jayden Nargen, Nachbi Pierre, and Jaeda Wolfgram) attended the first activity at the Community Garden today. The students were taught how to flip the soil, even it up, and place and secure the irrigation hoses. The soil was left ready to rest for 6 weeks. Ms. Delores Johnson is an esteemed alumna of Lincoln Park Academy who dedicated her career to public service and community and was interviewed as part of the oral histories for LPA’s centennial year. The Lincoln Park Academy Spring Centennial Career Expo was such an amazing event. Twenty-three former graduates were featured and also shared their expertise with our high school students. Students were able to converse with our LPA Alumni about the educational requirements for their career, the pros and cons that come along with their job, and also what they love most about their career. It was such a joy to see our former graduates shine! The day was an absolute success! +

The Lincoln Park Academy Wind Symphony & Orchestra recently traveled to New York City to perform in the Worldstride’s Heritage National Festival and had an outstanding week of performances and activities. They earned several accolades as listed below: Wind Ensemble received straight superiors, placed in the Gold division, earned an Adjudicator’s Choice award, and an Invitational Award to perform in the annual Festival Gold. The Lincoln Park Academy Chorus Department has been invited to perform in Paris, France in June 2025! The chorus was selected for this ten-day residency from June 6 to June 15, by guest conductor, Dr. Stacie Rossow who will conduct composer Michael McGlynn’s THE WIND AMONG THE REEDS with the Orchestre Symphonique Bel’Arte De Paris and distinguished soloists. This weekend LPA Theatre presented Footloose: The Musical! Wow!! Another amazing show from LPA Theatre! Footloose was absolutely brilliant and so fun! For the second year in a row, LPA high school students won first, second, and third place in the district Dr. Samuel S. Gaines Essay Contest. Senior Milani Carpenter won first place; freshman Arianna John won second place; and sophomore Madison Coloso took third. On April 4th, the LPA Science Bowl hosted their first CSI STEM Night. Students who attended investigated the case of the missing spirit stick. They analyzed fingerprints and fibers, used black lights to inspect the crime scene, and interrogated suspects – all to find the culprit who stole the spirit stick! School Resource Officers and the St. Lucie County CSI Unit also attended to help facilitate the investigation.
NJHS got a chance to learn all about advocacy. Members learned how to self-advocate for their personal ideas or beliefs. Members were also given insights on what it takes to advocate for a city and push for change. 📢💬 #AdvocacyRocks #MeetingTheMayor #CommunityVoice
At the 2024 Florida State Thespian Festival, troupe 6958 brought 8 individual events to compete with, and a one act. They came home with four excellents, four superiors, and top honors for their one act. 6958 got the pleasure of watching three main stages, watch other schools pieces, and take different workshops with Broadway professionals. Overall State Festival was an incredible learning experience for everyone who attended. LPA Theatre had an outstanding time at the state festival and can’t wait until next year!

The Women’s Chorus “Premiere” and the advanced Women’s Chorus “Belle Voix” both received Straight Superior ratings at the Florida Vocal Association District 13 Choral Music Performance Assessments. They now move on to the State Music Performance Assessments along with the Women’s Ensemble, Duet (Dalita DeCambre and Rayna Desmangles), and Soloist Angellesiea Cerda.
