  Treasure Coast High School’s International Business Academy’s Future Business Leaders of America students eagerly participated in Windmill Point’s Literacy Week. At Treasure Coast High School, Ms. De Leon’s class recently completed a fun and engaging science lesson that had everyone excited about learning! The lesson began with a discussion on how materials undergo changes, sparking curiosity among the students. Ms. De Leon introduced the concept of how baking soda can be altered by different liquids, leading to an intriguing question: Which liquid will cause the most significant change in baking soda? To find the answer, the students conducted an experiment where they added various liquids—water, lemon juice, and vinegar—along with red food coloring to baking soda. This event is a fantastic opportunity for our high school students to spread the holiday cheer and mentor younger students. Treasure Coast High School Jr. Reserved Officers Training Corps Cadets were selected to participate in the 2025 Sumer Flight Academy program. Cadets Nora Brant, Micheal Brant, and Juan Paez-Aguirre will represent Treasure Coast High School in the 2025 Summer Flight Academy program. This program is an 8-week program where cadets learn the flight principles and learn how to fly one-on-one with instructors. Upon successful completion, cadets may be eligible for their Private Pilot’s License. We are thrilled to announce that TCHS senior Zoe S. received a full scholarship through the Questbridge Scholarship program to attend Colby College in Maine. The Questbridge Scholarship program is an intensive process that begins in the student’s junior year and requires three levels of applications and elimination rounds. Zoe will be majoring in Performance, Theater, and Dance, with a minor in Cinema Studies. This field trip was not just an educational excursion but a deeply moving experience that brought historical concepts to life in a powerful way. During the visit, students had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand from a Holocaust survivor. His poignant recounting of his experiences that left an indelible mark on everyone present. Treasure Coast High School students recently had an exciting opportunity to tour the campus of Florida International University (FIU). This visit allowed our students to explore the vibrant campus, learn about various academic programs, and get a glimpse of college life. A big thank you to FIU for hosting us and providing such a warm welcome. Our students returned with a wealth of knowledge and a renewed sense of motivation for their academic journeys ahead.

The Treasure Coast Food Bank has teamed up with Treasure Coast High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student organization to make a significant impact in our community! Demonstrating remarkable dedication and teamwork, the FBLA students of TCHS, through their initiative Nick’s Necessities, successfully planned, packed, and distributed over 385 food bags to families in need. According to the National Library of Medicine, bystander CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival during cardiac arrest! This week, the freshman and junior classes at Treasure Coast High School proudly completed their CPR certifications, equipping them with essential lifesaving skills. This achievement not only enhances their readiness to respond in emergencies but also contributes to a safer community. This past Monday, the Treasure Coast High School ROTC color guard proudly participated in two Veteran’s Day parades, showcasing their dedication and respect for our nation’s veterans. The cadets posted the colors and performed a flag folding ceremony. Their performance was a moving tribute, honoring the bravery and sacrifices of those who have served. The cadets’ display of honor and respect was a testament to their hard work and the values upheld by the ROTC program. According to the Harvard School of Law, many students show interest in careers in law as early as their high school years. At TCHS, our criminal justice program offers engaging and enriching opportunities for students to connect with accomplished professionals in the field of law and criminal justice. On Thursday, Mr. David Dodd from the State Attorney’s office was our guest speaker for the criminal justice class. He spoke about his office, career paths, work benefits, and the journey to becoming a prosecutor. Our students had a fantastic time and asked several insightful questions. Titan Born, Titan Bred    

The Treasure Coast High School Dance Repertory Company attended the Day of Dance at the University of South Florida in Tampa. The dancers participated in collegiate-level dance classes taught by USF dance professors and danced alongside current dance majors and other Florida high school students. TCHS ROTC first-year cadets AS1 (aerospace science cadet) were awarded a new rank of C/Amn (cadet airman) for passing their initial rank test.  Additionally, one cadet of the quarter for each AS level was also recognized. Titan Born, Titan Bred!  

The TCHS Titan Sound Band has rocked the District 13 Marching Festival, earning superior ratings in every category! This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of each band member, along with the unwavering support from our amazing band parents. Students in the TCHS Criminal Justice Academy recently had the privilege of hosting Mr. Steven Couzens from the Public Defender’s Office in Saint Lucie County. Engaged and eager to learn, the students explored various professional opportunities within the Criminal Justice system and came prepared with insightful questions for Mr. Couzens. In the eerie halls of Ms. Bass’ art class, a spine-chilling pumpkin painting contest took place. Our ghoulishly talented students unleashed their inner Picassos, transforming mini pumpkins into haunting masterpieces. Titan Born, Titan Bred!    

Ms. De Leon’s class read an article about Creative Growth in Oakland, California. Creative Growth is an art center for people with disabilities. Creative Growth gives people with disabilities an opportunity to create, socialize, and display their work in the community.  After reading the article, students had their own chance to express themselves through personal art projects. Treasure Coast High School ROTC cadets visited the Navy SEAL Museum, where they had the opportunity to explore the history and mission of the United States Navy SEALs.
