Jasmine Shepherd from Port St. Lucie High School took top honors as St. Lucie Public School’s Teacher of the Year. Congressman Brian Mast recently visited Ms. Estrella’s Civics students at West Gate K-8 to speak with them about their work addressing blue-green algae in the Indian River Lagoon. This issue is deeply important to the Congressman, who has worked at the federal level to regulate and reduce water releases from Lake Okeechobee. His firsthand knowledge and expertise provided valuable insight, helping students strengthen their project and continue advocating for clean water at the local level.

On Monday, January 6, Westwood Academy proudly welcomed students to their new campus. Our OTL team worked together to support both teachers and students throughout the transition. Thank you to everyone who came out to help make this milestone a success. The beautiful new campus is officially open and ready for a great rest of the school year.
Recently, the Talent Development Prize Patrol hit the road with one mission in mind: to honor the mentors who make a lasting impact on their mentees. As The Prize Patrol visited schools, mentees had the chance to read their winning entries aloud to their mentors. These heartfelt words captured the gratitude and admiration they feel every day. Monday, December 1st, Legacy High School held their first annual Shop with a Lion. This past month, they have been raising money to purchase gifts for elementary students for Christmas. The Legacy Lion Ambassadors took 11 Oak Hammock students, grades 1 to 5, Christmas shopping at Target. After, they wrapped them so they would have plenty of gifts to open Christmas morning. To finish off the day, they had a pizza luncheon back at Oak Hammock.
