EKG Requirement for Student-Athletes

EKGs are required for first-time high school student athletes in the 2026-27 school year.  Specifically, this requirement applies to students participating in high school athletics for the first time, including incoming 9th-grade student-athletes, and students in grades 10–12 who have not previously participated in an FHSAA-sanctioned sport. Students who have already participated in a high school sport are not required to obtain an EKG at this time; however, obtaining one is strongly recommended as a best practice for student health and safety. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! On May 20 & 21, Superintendent Dr. Jon R. Prince, joined by Board Chairman Dr. Donna Mills, Board Vice Chairman Troy Ingersoll, Board Member Terissa Aronson, Board Member Debbie Hawley, Board Member Jennifer Richardson, and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Helen Wild, celebrated the graduating classes of 2026 at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds. This year, over 3,500 students walked across the stage to receive their diplomas. Graduation is the culminating event that celebrates and recognizes the achievement of each graduate.
