On Thursday, October 30th, Treasure Coast High School proudly participated in the annual Giving Concert, a community event celebrating unity, kindness, peace, and love through music. On Friday, October 24, Fort Pierce Central High School hosted its highly anticipated Senior Sports Day. This was a fun-filled event that brought energy, excitement, and Cobra pride to the gym. The seniors dressed in sports attire representing their favorite teams—including the beloved Cobras—enjoyed a variety of athletic and social activities designed to celebrate their final year. The Academic Trivia team from Treasure Coast High School in Port St. Lucie, Florida, recently earned 3rd place at the IRSC High School Brain Bowl competition. The 5th Annual Sunshine Kitchen Competition brought together culinary talent from across St. Lucie County, pairing high school seniors with first-year IRSC culinary students in a sizzling showdown. Representing Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, senior Nimsi Moreno teamed up with IRSC’s Christina Theriault to compete against teams from PSL High, Ft. Ms. Brault’s 6th Grade ELA students recently participated in a dynamic and engaging carousel walk designed to deepen their understanding of narrative perspectives. Fairlawn 2nd graders recently celebrated their “Pumpkin Day,” an ongoing tradition here at Fairlawn. Students, with the help of our wonderful parent and family volunteers, and, of course, their wonderful teachers, connected the fun of Halloween with math and science. The students had fun working with partners to complete a pumpkin investigation activity, including counting their pumpkins’ seeds by placing the seeds in groups of ten, measuring the circumference of their pumpkins, weighing their pumpkins, and making inferences and predictions as to whether or not their pumpkins would float in a vat of water. On our early dismissal day, Lakewood Park kindergarten students turned into engineers during STOP and STEM Day! The day began with an exciting question: What does an engineer do? Students learned that engineers solve problems—and then they were given one of their own. The letters of the alphabet wanted to climb the Chicka Chicka BOOM BOOM tree, but the tree wasn’t strong enough. It wobbled and fell, knocking all the letters off!
