Lincoln Park Academy Wind Ensemble Earns Superior Ratings 

Led by Band Directors Mr. Jason Albert and Mr. Jason Hatfield, the talented musicians of the Lincoln Park Academy Wind Ensemble gave an incredible performance at the 2025 District 13 Florida Bandmasters Association Concert Music Performance Assessment. Performing for a panel of four adjudicators, the LPA Wind Ensemble earned Straight Superior ratings for the second consecutive year. LPA Middle School Band Earns Superior

The Lincoln Park Middle School Concert Band under the direction of Jason Hatfield and Jason Albert is proud to announce that it has earned a Superior rating at the prestigious Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA) District 13 Music Performance Assessment (MPA), held on March 11th. This remarkable achievement was the first time in fifteen years for this prestigious award. Students Explore Puerto Rican Culture Making Vejigante Masks

The World Languages students at SLW Centennial recently learned about the Puerto Rican culture as part of the Spanish language studies. As an extension to their learning, they made vejigante masks. This hands-on project allowed students to delve into the rich traditions and vibrant history of Puerto Rico, bringing a piece of its folklore to life. The vejigante mask is a traditional element of Puerto Rican festivals, particularly during the annual Carnival celebrations. Manatee Center Field Trip

Mr. Clarke’s science classes at Performance Base Preparatory Academy made a recent trip to the Manatee Center and afterward paid a quick visit to the nearby “Seven Gables House”.  Students first attended an outdoor lecture by Elyse Geraghty, the educational director at the Manatee Center, where they learned about manatee physiology, habitat, and evolutionary development. Afterward, students explored the indoor facility in which they observed, analyzed, and even interacted with some particular displays. The PBIS Committee at Village Green Environmental Studies School hosted their annual students vs. teachers kickball games to kick off Spring Break. Students got to enjoy extra outdoor time and watch the friendly, but competitive, kickball games. Mosaic Owls Attend “Saturday with a Scientist”

On Saturday, March 1st, 5th graders from Mosaic Digital Academy attended “Saturday with a Scientist” at Indian River State College, engaging in hands-on activities that brought their virtual science lessons to life. Students explored ocean acidification, seeing firsthand how CO2 affects pH and marine life. They extracted DNA from strawberries using simple materials, gaining insight into cell structure and genetics. A planetarium show deepened their understanding of space, while a visit to the robotics lab allowed them to control a robotic dog, exploring forces, motion, and technology. St. Lucie West K8 Choral Students Shine in the St. Lucie Schools All County Chorus

St. Lucie West K8 3rd-5th Grade Choral students traveled to Lincoln Park Academy recently to join over 100 other students from across the district to be a part of the 2025 St. Lucie Public Schools All County Chorus. Students stayed after school and practiced at home on their own to prepare and memorize eight songs so that they could be ready for the big day. Once at All County Chorus, they spent several hours in the morning rehearsing with other students. Filling Empty Bowls in Our Community

On Saturday, March 8th, Fort Pierce Central Cobras proudly volunteered at the 17th annual Empty Bowls event benefiting the Treasure Coast Food Bank. The Empty Bowls project is a national campaign to fight hunger and end food insecurity in communities. The Empty Bowl is a symbol representing that one in four children in America still doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from. Patrons pick out a handmade or wheel-thrown bowl for $25 and get a to-go bowl of yummy soup donated by local restaurants. The potters from Indian River Clay also donated silent auction artworks. On January 30, 2025, Sheriff Richard Del Toro and members of the Sheriff’s Office had the honor of participating in Literacy Week at Village Green Environmental Studies with Mrs. Fraser-Wittingham’s 3rd class. That day, the Sheriff made a special promise to the class—a challenge: if they could finish the book within a month, he would return to throw them a pizza party. Eighth grade Sharks took a field trip to experience CTE (Career Technical Education) programs at our amazing neighboring high school, St. Lucie West Centennial High School.
