The Dan McCarty Sixth-Grade Team proudly celebrates positive behavior and strong academic performance through our PBIS reward system known as Eagle Bucks. Students earn Eagle Bucks by demonstrating responsibility, respect, effort, and a commitment to learning each day. Every few weeks, students are invited to participate in a PBIS supply store, where they can redeem their Eagle Bucks for meaningful and motivating rewards. These include popular items such as epic lunches (including the 6–7 Epic Lunch), school supplies, and other student-selected items purchased by the team and school through Amazon. Dan McCarty Middle School proudly came together to support American Heart Month as staff members wore red and participated in their annual school photo to show unity and awareness. It was a great day on campus that highlighted both community and collaboration. Dan McCarty Students Honor Principal Stubbs’ Big Win

On November 12, 2025, the students and staff of Dan McCarty Middle School came together in a heartfelt celebration to honor Principal Stubbs for being named the St. Lucie Public Schools Principal of the Year. The hallways were filled with excitement and pride as students lined up holding handmade signs, colorful posters, and roses to show their appreciation. Dan McCarty Science Bowl STEM Competition Winners

FIRST PLACE WINNERS!  On Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, our incredible Dan McCarty Middle School students made DMMS HISTORY, taking 1st place in the Florida Regional Science Bowl Competition in the STEM category! Dan McCarty Water Tower Contest

Dan McCarty Middle School teamed up with the City of Port St. Lucie Water Department to provide our AVID students with an exciting event. Students were able to test out their semester-long water tower projects by competing for $2000 in prizes. Each water tower had to be created within weight, height, and budget restrictions and were tested to withstand water intake and flow back out. It was amazing to see our future engineers at work. Thank you, Pierre, Louiza, and the rest of the Water Department team, for helping to make this such a special day for our sixth-graders!

Dan McCarty AVID Program in Action

This year Dan McCarty has become an AVID(Advancement Via Individual Determination) school. This designation allows for our sixth graders to learn about college and career readiness! Our first activity to expose students to different careers, started today with Retired Officer and current IRSC Professor, Chris Fulcher! Mr.Fulcher alongside Officer Stephens teamed up to discuss career opportunities in law enforcement and crime scene investigation! Dan McCarty is celebrating the 8 students that are representing the school at the Science Fair. The students received wings and fries from JoJo’s for lunch and received awards for their projects. Each student will be receiving a paid trip to Busch Gardens.
