Students from Fort Pierce Central High School recently embarked on an enriching field trip to the FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, where they explored the Indian River Lagoon through an immersive eco boat tour. This hands-on experience offered a unique opportunity to learn about one of Florida’s most diverse estuarine ecosystems and the cutting-edge research conducted at the institute. SLWK8 celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a weeklong spirit week! Culminating in a Zumba dance party for families.  Our PTO was able to coordinate with Moe’s, which graciously donated a coupon for all families attending to get a tasty snack after all the dancing! Last week, the kitchen at Fort Pierce Central High School was full of energy as students enjoyed learning through a hands-on culinary experience led by Chef Strell and Chef Swertfager. The classroom transformed into a professional-grade kitchen, where students rotated through stations focused on fruit cutting, cookie making and decorating, and grilling. NHS Cobras Care! September was National Suicide Awareness and Prevention month. The Fort Pierce Central National Honor Society took an active role in this critically important campaign. During a September meeting, NHS members were given blank colored index cards and asked to write positive affirmations and words of encouragement. These cards were placed on courtyard facing windows for students passing by, transitioning from class to class, to take. These cards were meant to be informative, uplifting, and passed on. This year, many Cobras will earn their AICE Diplomas, demonstrating mastery across a rigorous curriculum that includes global perspectives, advanced sciences, arts and humanities, and college-level writing. The Detail’s participation showcased the school and JROTC program with precision and pride during the ceremony.
