6th through 8th grade students at Oak Hammock K8 School participated in an induction ceremony for the National Junior Honor Society. The purpose of this organization is to promote leadership and build character among middle school students. Students are also provided with an opportunity to grow academically as they prepare for upper-level classes in high school. Members of the NJHS will serve as leaders of the student body as they Level up Learning, Level Up Success!
Third graders at Lakewood Park Elementary have been working hard at having FUN with math and science! From using points to create Sum Farms, creating their own manipulatives, and building model bridges during Stop and Stem Day to help Everglades’ animals avoid a highway, third graders have been exploring, smiling, and celebrating their way through this year’s math and science topics!

Treasure Coast High School is excited to announce of the 150 AFJROTC cadets selected worldwide for this Summer’s AFJROTC Flight Academy. TCHS AFJROTC had 3 cadets on the list. Cadets Michael Brandt, Jayden Beiter, and Christian Gatto were selected on the “alternates” list for this summer. This is the first time we’ve had three chosen, and that’s a tribute both to their hard work and preparation for the selection process. If our cadets are selected, they will return to TCHS for their senior year with Private Pilot Licenses in hand. Titan Born, Titan Bred!
Tis the busy season for good works by the Fort Pierce Central Key Club! Sponsor Mrs. Denise Peschio and 100 members participated in the Fort Pierce Sights and Sounds Parade in early December. Then, volunteers helped at the annual Rivers Ridge Elementary School’s Holiday shop. Next, Key Club added some holiday decor at Chester A. Moore Elementary School. Finally, Key Club members helped bag gifts for the local, annual Toys for Tots.

As an AVID School, Chester A. Moore Elementary teaches students that they can be whatever they want in life – with the right combination of effort and motivation. Ms. Jean Wright helped bring home that message when she spoke to our students last Friday. In two assemblies, she read aloud a new biography about her life as a NASA seamstress entitled, “Sew Sister: The Untold Story of Jean Wright and NASA’s Seamstresses” by Elise Matich. Thanks, Ms. Wright, for inspiring our young explorers to shoot for the stars in whatever they wish to become!
It is a season of joy at Lawnwood Elementary. Together we learned about various Christmas traditions through drama, music, and dance. A special thank you goes out to Ms. Evans, Lawnwood’s music teacher, for directing and coordinating the entire production. GO LEOPARDS!
Ms. Leonie Poku and FPC’s talented all-star cast of dancers delighted family and friends in Cobra Nation with spectacular seasonal offerings. From dramatic themes of elegance juxtaposed with the essence of jovial interpretations of iconic holiday numbers, the performances demonstrated the reach and range of FPC dancers.
Mr. Phil DePuy’s students from Treasure Coast High School (Engineering and Manufacturing programs) were afforded an opportunity to participate in a presentation hosted by Colleen Gill (Apprenticeship Navigator) from CareerSource Research Coast. Students learned about apprenticeship opportunities available to them after high school along with education and career options for those wanting to pursue a career in the industrial manufacturing industry. Mr. DePuy offers the pre-apprenticeship program for students enrolled in his program at TCHS. Ms. Colleen Gill is also an Engineering/Manufacturing Advisory Board Member.
Our Dolphins had a blast during their Winter Field Days! It was a great way to enjoy the chilly weather with the anticipation of Winter Break. Our PE Coaches, Erin Perman and Jared Kay did a great job organizing student favorites such as sack races, hurdle relays, and the 3 legged race.
The Treasure Coast High School US Air Force Junior ROTC cadets volunteered with a local food pantry. Our cadets prepared and distributed food to local families in need. Titan Born, Titan Bred!
Memories: A Winter Holiday Concert Ushering in the cheeriest season of the year is greeted by FPC’s Performing Arts concerts and performance celebrations. Band Director Mr. Joshua Daniels proudly presented Fort Pierce Central’s annual Winter Band Concert entitled “Memories: A Winter Holiday Concert.” This year’s concert featured Jazz Band performances of Kosma’s “Autumn Leaves,” Yasinitsky’s “Tomorrow’s Memories,” and Marks’ “Rudolph’s Mambo.” Next, themes from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker with special performances by Esteban Acosta, Junior Dubon, Jasmine Gabriel, Wendell Remy, and Makayla Vasser. Kindergarten, first, and second graders at SLWK8 put on a festive performance for a packed audience. The theme of Holidays Around the World was truly spectacular! Kindergarten took us on a musical journey from the United States to Italy. First grade sang and shared a poem from Israel. Second grade sang Feliz Navidad and shared different traditions from Mexico and China. It was an amazing night filled with holiday spirit!
Dr. Gregory Dorcelia, ELL/ESOL Counselor and Mrs. Sarah Armada, 12th Grade Administrator, aided by additional translators, hosted the annual college application night at FPC. This event is designed to serve the diverse needs of students applying for college. Many of the students participating will be the first in their families to pursue higher education.
