This past weekend on Saturday, April 13, 2024, Treasure Coast High School, Fort Pierce Westwood High School, and Southern Oaks Middle School participated in the T.R.E.A.S.U.R.E. Tournament Air Sea Land Challenge, hosted by Treasure Coast High School’s Robotics Team at their school. The event included an aerial scavenger hunt, an augmented reality maze for drones, as well as land and underwater events, which culminated in a Combined Event of all three types. On March 27th, the Treasure Coast High School ROTC FL-20081 staff flight was visited by Mr. Brett and Mr. Dewey from Stuart to present us with a $3,000 check for our participation as volunteers at the 2023 Stuart Airshow. On Saturday, March 9th, Mr. Curatolo and members of the Treasure Coast High School National Honors Society, in collaboration with 5 other high school chapters of NHS, completed the largest beach cleanup project to date. Over 100 members spent that Saturday morning cleaning the Hutchinson Island beaches, sidewalks, and pathways of any trash and debris they could find. Each chapter covered at least 2-3 miles of beach helping make St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast clean and suitable for the environment. Sophia H. Katsigiannis, a student at Treasure Coast High School, has been selected for the High School Honors Performance Series at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Sophia will perform the bass clarinet in July 2024 with the Honors Band. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated young performers from across the world. Sophia will join performers from 42 United States, Guam, South Korea, and Canada for a special performance at the world-famous Royal Festival Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement. This week, School Resource Officer McCarty and Officer DeJean presented to our 9th-grade students the Port St. Lucie Police Department Officer Steve Brown Model Traffic Stop Program. This program is to promote positivity between teens and law enforcement by teaching them how to have a positive interaction during a traffic stop. This program is to honor the late School Resource Officer Steve Brown who was once the SRO at Treasure Coast High School. In celebration of Black History Month, the judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida held a creative arts and essay contest that was open to high school students in St. Lucie, Indian River, and Martin counties. This year’s theme was “Connecting and Celebrating the African Diaspora.” Out of 69 entries, Treasure Coast High School student Autumn won third place celebrating the Carribean/American connection! Our JROTC Titan Cadets raised nearly 400 pounds of food items during the March Food Drive for the Treasure Coast Food Bank. They also supported our local Bread of Life Food Pantry by providing meals to families in need during the Drive-Up Donation Event. Titan Born, Titan Bred

The Bataan Death March was the forcible transfer by the Imperial Japanese Army of 75,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war (POW) from the municipalities of Bagac and Mariveles on the Bataan Peninsula to Camp O’Donnell via San Fernando. Treasure Coast High School is excited to announce of the 150 AFJROTC cadets selected worldwide for this Summer’s AFJROTC Flight Academy. TCHS AFJROTC had 3 cadets on the list. Cadets Michael Brandt, Jayden Beiter, and Christian Gatto were selected on the “alternates” list for this summer. This is the first time we’ve had three chosen, and that’s a tribute both to their hard work and preparation for the selection process.
