Fort Pierce Central High School began the new school year with an exciting display of school pride during its first pep rally, held in celebration of the Cobra Football Home Opener. Students in Legacy High School’s Global Logistics program prepared and delivered four boxes of replica trophies to Principal Smith. Before making the delivery, students packed each shipment, completed packing slips, used bubble wrap to protect the trophies, and prepared delivery receipts. After the shipment arrived, Mr. Smith inspected the delivery and signed the students’ receipts, giving them the opportunity to experience the shipping process from packing to final delivery and proof of receipt. Southport Middle School sixth-grade students recently stepped into the role of scientists while exploring the scientific method through an engaging hands-on laboratory investigation using invisible ink. As part of their learning, students researched how invisible ink was used during the Revolutionary War to secretly communicate with allied forces, helping share important information without detection. Students conducted an experiment to determine which type of juice would create the most effective invisible ink. Using three juices with different acidity levels, students carefully identified a single independent variable and observed the results using qualitative data. In Mrs. Hernandez’s third-grade classes, we’ve been learning a variety of multiplication strategies, and our students are off to an amazing start! They have been practicing multiplication through arrays, number lines, repeated addition, and equal groups to build a strong foundation of understanding. Ms. Bowser’s 5th-grade students at Weatherbee Elementary recently demonstrated their understanding of space science through an engaging, hands-on project focused on the Milky Way Galaxy. As part of their learning, students designed and constructed detailed models of the galaxy, applying what they had learned about its structure and components.
