On 10 and 11 October 2026, Cadets from the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion supported the Tailwaggers Agility Event at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds. Hosted by the Tailwaggers Agility Club of South Florida, the event featured AKC dog agility competitions where handlers and their dogs navigated challenging obstacle courses that tested speed, precision, teamwork, and control.
Throughout the weekend, Cadets provided volunteer support, helping event organizers ensure a smooth experience for competitors, spectators, and staff. Their dedication and professionalism reflected the values of both Port Saint Lucie High School and the Army JROTC program.
The event offered Cadets a unique and exciting experience as they observed the strong partnership between handlers and their dogs. Watching competitors navigate complex agility courses reinforced the importance of teamwork, discipline, communication, and perseverance. Many Cadets recognized similarities between the coordination required on the agility course and the teamwork essential to success within the Jaguar Battalion.
By supporting this community event, Cadets gained valuable service experience, interacted with community members, and developed a greater appreciation for the commitment and training required to achieve excellence. The Tailwaggers Agility Event provided a memorable opportunity for Cadets to serve, learn, and represent the Jaguar Battalion in a positive and professional manner.
