This beloved comedy has charmed audiences worldwide since its debut. The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalions Male and Female Teams traveled to Brooksville, Florida to compete in the Army JROTC High School State Championships on November 16th. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3.1 mile run, a 1-mile litter carry, tire flip, and a Fitness challenge, as well as constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion competed against the top 40 Army JROTC Program in the state of Florida.  The Male team finished 11th place overall, and Female team placed 10th overall. Congratulations, Males and Females, for such an amazing raider season. 

On Friday Cobra Nation’s courtyard was filled with the spectacular sound from our talented band students. Under the masterful direction of Mr. Gabin, the band delivered a show-stopping medley of songs that had both lunch periods savoring every moment. Students couldn’t resist recording the rhythm, spontaneously dancing, and tapping their toes to the dynamic performance. Treasure Coast High School students recently had an exciting opportunity to tour the campus of Florida International University (FIU). This visit allowed our students to explore the vibrant campus, learn about various academic programs, and get a glimpse of college life. A big thank you to FIU for hosting us and providing such a warm welcome. Our students returned with a wealth of knowledge and a renewed sense of motivation for their academic journeys ahead.

The Treasure Coast Food Bank has teamed up with Treasure Coast High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student organization to make a significant impact in our community! Demonstrating remarkable dedication and teamwork, the FBLA students of TCHS, through their initiative Nick’s Necessities, successfully planned, packed, and distributed over 385 food bags to families in need. This week, the freshman and junior classes at Treasure Coast High School proudly completed their CPR certifications, equipping them with essential lifesaving skills. This achievement not only enhances their readiness to respond in emergencies but also contributes to a safer community. Mosaic Digital Academy K-5 students thrived during their first “Live Day” of the year. Live Days consist of student-centered, hands-on learning opportunities that are in-person, giving students valuable opportunities to explore Math, ELA, and Science alongside their peers. Students in Mrs. Mimnaugh’s math classes engaged in standards-based problem-solving activities using Hands 2 Mind math manipulatives. Working collaboratively, students demonstrated productive struggle as they took ownership of grappling with math problems to find a solution. First Graders at Palm Pointe had the pleasure of hosting special visitors from the St. Lucie Mets—Mr. Traer Van Allen and their mascot, Klutch. They shared with our students how the St. Lucie Mets actively contribute to our community by supporting various local organizations. It was a great opportunity for the students to learn about the positive impact sports teams can have beyond the field.

This past Monday, the Treasure Coast High School ROTC color guard proudly participated in two Veteran’s Day parades, showcasing their dedication and respect for our nation’s veterans. The cadets posted the colors and performed a flag folding ceremony. Their performance was a moving tribute, honoring the bravery and sacrifices of those who have served. The cadets’ display of honor and respect was a testament to their hard work and the values upheld by the ROTC program. Middle schoolers celebrated Principal and A/B honor roll with a picnic in the park and a visit to the snack shack. West Gate listened to the Mustangs regarding finding different ways to celebrate academics aside from traditional ceremonies.   

Village Green Environmental Studies School hosted a Fall into Success: Title 1 and Curriculum Night. This wonderful event provided families with helpful information and resources to ensure their children’s success. A huge thank you goes to VGESS Faculty and Staff, parents, students, and community partners for joining us for Success Night. Your participation and enthusiasm truly made this event special and meaningful!  

Palm Pointe Kindergarten students were thrilled to have Rosa from MIDFLORIDA Gift of Reading come read to their classes. Each student and teacher received a free book to take home.

Mrs. Johnson’s 2nd-grade MTSS class did a research inquiry project and presented their findings. Utilizing books and online resources, students researched the season of their choice—identifying weather conditions and plant/animal adaptations and changes. 

Kindergarten and 1st-grade students at OHK8 participated in a voting activity as they learned how to count tallies during math.  They stood in line to vote on a matter that was very meaningful to them, which food item they liked most, hamburgers or hotdogs. Each student had a laminated voter registration card to present to vote.  We talked about what it means to be a good citizen in our country.  After a long day at the polls, hotdogs won most votes.
