The St. Lucie West Centennial High School wrestling team, led by Head Coach Troy Surloff, and the girls’ wrestling team, coached by Jacob Pryor, took on tough competition at the District tournament—emerging with multiple standout performances and several athletes advancing to Regionals. Their grit, skill, and determination made the Eagles proud!
At Districts, top placers included Anthony Saget, Eddie Keyes III, Julien Fernandez, Caitlin Borher, Chloe Caldwell, Natalie Reed, Brianna Calzada-Mompie, Lylianna Petron, and Alina Diaz. These athletes showcased their hard work, earning their spots in the next round of competition. The momentum continued at Regionals, where Eddie Keyes III dominated in the 285-weight class, securing 2nd place and punching his ticket to the State Championships! Keyes will now represent Centennial on the biggest stage, facing the best wrestlers in Florida.
The team’s success is a testament to their dedication, the unwavering support of their coaches, and the encouragement of their families. Congratulations to all our wrestlers on an incredible season, and best of luck to Eddie at States—let’s go, Eagles!
