Mrs. Slappey’s Wilderness Club from Rivers Edge Elementary embarked on another trail expedition, uncovering some of nature’s hidden gems. The students were thrilled to discover an opossum jaw bone, a snake skin, and some enchanting lichen along the way. The experience was nothing short of magical, sparking curiosity and wonder among the budding naturalists. On Monday, January 20, 2025, St. Lucie Public Schools, along with SLPS Superintendent and Board Members, participated in Fort Pierce’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. Southport Middle School teachers, staff, and students came together to commemorate Martin Luther King’s legacy.  Southport band students, led by Mr. Brandon Pasquence, played a variety of songs. Southport Middle SRD Helps Out in the Weight Room

At Southport Middle School, Physical Education classes host an array of sports. In 2nd grade at Morningside Elementary, students enthusiastically participated in a collaborative activity that was focused on telling time. In Mrs. Enoch’s and Pank’s Writing and Science Lab, students enthusiastically participated in the interactive game “Eat or Be Eaten.” This engaging educational tool allowed them to actively construct food chains, providing a hands-on learning experience.
