Florida’s Premier High School Academic Competition

St. Lucie County won the Florida Academic Challenge! This is the first time since 2004 that team St. Lucie has won! Team St. Lucie was led by Coach Stephen Maxwell (Treasure Coast High School) and Assistant Coach Peter Miserocchi (Fort Pierce Central High School).  Team St. Lucie consisted of four members from Treasure Coast High School (Corey Pope, Aidan Ortado, Gabriel Gobi, and Sebastian Rebelo) and Fort Pierce Central student (Jayden McGregor) to make the winning team. SLPS District Commissioners Academic Competition 2025

On January 17th, students from all 6 comprehensive high schools and Mosaic Digital Academy competed against each other in a rigorous academic competition testing their academic prowess! Students answered questions from content areas ranging from Music, Foreign Language, English, Mathematics, Science, and more. Treasure Coast High School took home first place in the competition this year. SLPS & St. Lucie Public Library Art Project

On Friday, April 19th, students from St. Lucie West Centennial High School, St. Lucie West K-8, Northport K-8, Westgate K-8, and Rivers Edge Elementary came to the district office to participate in the creation of a permanent art installation on the new Port St. Lucie Library. The students worked with the artist Justin Shea to create Henri Matisse-inspired cut-outs which will be turned into mosaic tiles on the exterior of the new library.

Commissioners Academic Challenge

Congratulations to Coach Stephen Maxwell and the Treasure Coast Academic Team for winning the District Commissioners Academic Challenge on January 19th. Team St. Lucie will be heading to the Loews Pacific Royal Resort in Universal Orlando to compete at the State Academic Championship April 11-13th.
