Battle Bots: Eighth grade Northstars students in Mr. Fess’ STEM classes designed, built and programmed robots to battle one-another. Students created bots using either VEX or LEGO Mindstorms robotic kits. These students demonstrated their knowledge of gear ratios and proper building technique while working in groups on their problem-solving skills. These classes will soon switch curricula so that each student has an opportunity to try their hand at both robot formats.
