Fort Pierce Central High School’s Class of 2027 gathered at Golden Corral on Friday for the annual Senior Breakfast, a tradition that marks the beginning of students’ final year of high school. Fairlawn Elementary staff recently traded in their school shoes for bowling shoes and had a fantastic time participating in Bowl for Kids’ Sake, an event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Lucie County! Fort Pierce Central High School celebrated the accomplishments of its Cambridge AICE students during the 2026 AICE Awards Ceremony held on September 24. The event brought together students, families, faculty, and school leaders to recognize academic achievement and dedication within one of the school’s most rigorous programs. The ceremony was led by AICE Coordinator Mrs. Kelly Wiggett and featured remarks from Principal Mr. Eldrique Gardner, who recognized the commitment and perseverance demonstrated by AICE scholars throughout the year. On Wednesday, September 23, Fort Pierce Central High School proudly inducted 112 new members into the National Honor Society during a special evening celebration attended by more than 400 students, family members, leadership, and community supporters. Students in Mr. Glover’s STEM class recently embarked on an exciting learning adventure through the Forest Grove Rover Mapping Mission, a project that combined science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a real-world application. Using Google Earth, students explored and mapped the Forest Grove Middle School campus before designing a detailed rover route that traveled past every building on campus. Students in and Mr. Kearney and Ms. Sallette’s 7th grade science classes recently had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Earth’s changing surface through an engaging Tectonic Plate Activity. Designed by our creative teachers, this hands-on lesson allowed students to explore how the movement of Earth’s tectonic plates can lead to major geological events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, mountain formation, and the creation of ocean ridges. On September 25, 2026, the Jaguar Battalion took a trip to the Coast Guard Station in Fort Pierce from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. During this trip, cadets who attended had the opportunity to learn about Coast Guard missions, including search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, boating safety, environmental protection, and homeland security. The Battalion received a tour of the station, which gave cadets the opportunity to ask questions and learn new things. Creativity, collaboration, and self-expression recently came together in an inspiring art project led by Mrs. Grant’s talented art students. Working as a team, students created a vibrant hallway mural that now proudly hangs outside the art classroom, showcasing the unique interests, backgrounds, and personalities that make our Bulldog community so special. Each student designed a hot air balloon filled with images and symbols representing things that are important to them. Our 7th grade scientists in Ms. Tauriello’s class at Southport Middle School got hands-on with plate tectonics this week! Using graham crackers to represent Earth’s plates and frosting to represent magma, students modeled three types of plate boundaries: divergent, convergent, and transform. For each boundary, students moved their “plates,” drew arrows to show the direction of movement, and predicted which landforms would form, such as ridges, mountains, and faults. Our kindergarteners at Fairlawn Elementary are off to a fantastic start! They have been working hard each day as they learn new routines, build important skills, and become confident members of our school community. One of the highlights has been mastering their scissor skills! Students in Ms. Morgan’s Media Research class recently combined research, creativity, and cultural learning through an engaging biography project in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. As part of the assignment, students selected an influential Hispanic figure and conducted research to learn more about that individual’s life, accomplishments, and lasting impact. After gathering information from a variety of sources, students organized their findings into creative flip charts that showcased key details about their chosen person.
