This fall, the Lincoln Park Academy Media Center celebrated the power of storytelling with its inaugural Literary Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Students in grades 6–12 turned ordinary pumpkins into vivid portraits of their favorite literary characters. Their entries showed imagination, artistic skill and a real understanding of the books that inspired them.
The contest invited students to connect with literature in a creative, hands-on way while showing their individual talents. The finished pumpkins were displayed in the Media Center, where students and staff viewed the work and voted for their favorites. Winners were announced on October 29.
The event brought literature to life, strengthened school spirit and celebrated reading as a lasting part of the LPA experience. We thank every student who took part and everyone who stopped by to vote. We look forward to making this a cherished annual tradition.
