Port St. Lucie High School students take time during organized school-wide events such as the recent flag football game to reflect in remembrance of victims of violence.  Student leaders work with school administrators to plan school events and opportunities for students to voice thoughts, share ideas, and exercise positive civic responsibilities.

LPA student Bradley Livingston, is a 10th grader whose artwork, “Lively Toes,” has been accepted for the Dali Museum’s Surrealist Art Exhibit in St. Petersburg, Florida.  His work will be displayed together with 100 juried works shown at “The Marvelous, the Fantastic & the Grotesque” Exhibition, May 19th – August 26, 2018.  Congratulations to Bradley Livingston on a job well done!    

Students in Ms. Merritt’s Creative Writing Class at Lincoln Park Academy earned several awards in the Indian River State College Annual Creative Writing Contest. Students submitted one original work of writing in the poetry, drama, or short story category. The students’ work was judged by IRSC faculty members, and the awards were received on March 29th at the 2018 Creative Writing Contest Award Ceremony held at IRSC. Northport kindergartners were so lucky to visit with Mrs. Kate. Mrs.Kate is a renowned folksinger, songwriter and storyteller. The students loved the immersion into a musical morning with a very talented artist. Thanks to our great kindergarten teachers for their kindness, patience and dedication to learning. ❤

Natalia Illuzzi won Districts at the #1 singles position. She is advancing to the State Tournament on May 3rd.  Congratulations, Natalia!

Northport students in Sandra Tyndale’s eighth grade class and Jennifer Lusardi’s second grade class collaborated with students from Fort Pierce Central High School and Lincoln Park Academy visiting Northport as Dual Enrollment students from Indian River State College. The dual enrollment students visited Northport as an assignment from their college level American Government class. Students, Samantha Huynh, Anthony Lima, Adriana Sanz and Nayeli Silva are running a mock campaign for Governor of the State of Florida. Morningside Elementary’s Odyssey of the Mind Team is heading to the world competition!  Congratulations!

On April 10 – 14, the Fine Art and Performing Art students of Treasure Coast High School hosted their Annual IMAGINE art show. This year, the show was hosted at TCHS. Visual Arts (Drawing, Painting, Graphic Design and Photography) and Performing Arts (Dance, Acting and Singing) were all a part of this show.  During the day, many teachers brought their classes to the visual arts to experience photography, painting, drawing and graphic design. FORT PIERCE, FL – The annual St. Lucie County High School Art Show opens Friday, April 20, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  This years’ show takes place in the Galleria of Pierce Harbor Building located at 100 S. 2nd St. in Ft. Pierce. Fort Pierce Central’s “Poison Pens” spoken word poetry team won Semi Finals in Jason Taylor’s 4th Annual Louder Than a Bomb” poetry slam. As one of the final four winning teams in the state of Florida, they move on to Team finals Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Nova Southeastern University. Congratulations!

Northport student wins Retired Educator’s Writing Award!

Congratulations to Windmill Point Elementary’s Odyssey of the Mind Team that competed at the State Competition held at UCF! Their project held 305 pounds! Thank you to Mr. Caroglanian for working with his team! Way to go, Rising Stars!  

Lincoln Park Academy was recently notified by the FHSAA that Senior Jamya Wiley is one of twelve female finalists for the Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. Jamya will attend a banquet in Gainesville on June 11th and be awarded a $1,700.00 scholarship.  The over-all winner will be announced and will receive an additional $4,600.00. Congratulations and good luck to Jamya!

Northport is so pleased to celebrate our Third Grade Perfect Attendance, B Honor Roll, A Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll. Our teachers and students have worked very hard and have earned this award. Many thanks to our parents who make sure that the classwork and homework is complete, attend parent conferences and make sure that their student is following classroom and school norms. Mrs. Kemp, Mrs. Taylor, Ms. D’Argenio, Ms. Cirjaru, Ms. Claflin and Mrs. Wilson are to be commended for their diligence, patience and kindness working with our children. Many thanks to all who attended this wonderful celebration.

National Library Week will be observed April 8-14, 2018 with the theme, “Libraries Lead.” First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
