The Lawnwood campus was buzzing as special vehicles rolled in, and community members took time out of their day to connect with our students. Classes rotated through each visit, learning what it takes to do these important jobs and how each role supports our community every day. During the recent 8th‑grade math classroom visits at Forest Grove Middle School, students were actively engaged in independent practice designed to deepen their understanding of key mathematical concepts. Although each classroom had its own instructional approach, several important elements were consistent across all observations. On Saturday, March 14, the Saturday Morning Farmers Market was filled with more than fresh produce and local goods—it became a gathering place for compassion and community during the annual Empty Bowls event benefiting the Treasure Coast Food Bank. Through a meaningful partnership with St. Lucie County Schools, this year’s event raised nearly $14,000 to support local hunger‑relief efforts. St. Lucie West K-8 third-graders in Mrs. Harvey’s ELA classes dove into reading as Sharks collaborated to compare and contrast how authors present information across two texts. Students examined text features, key details, and text structures to determine similarities and differences in how ideas were explained. Working in pairs and small groups, they discussed evidence, shared observations, and supported their thinking using details from the texts. This engaging lesson strengthened comprehension skills, critical thinking, and accountable talk. On Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion held its 33rd Annual Award Ceremony. The purpose of this award ceremony was to award deserving Cadets for their service, loyalty, personal appearance, character, and knowledge of JROTC, as well as their outstanding achievements in and outside of the program. Select Cadets were recognized by different Veteran organizations such as MOAA, Vietnam Veterans of America, Korean War Veterans, etc. More awards will also be given to the Cadets during the Company inspection.  The ceremony was a success as there were over 40 awards given to top-performing cadets for their outstanding achievements.

On March 26, 2026, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion successfully hosted its fourth blood drive of the school year. In partnership with ONEBLOOD, the event saw 35 students, faculty, and staff members participate, potentially saving up to 84 lives.  Cadets played an essential role in the drive’s success by managing various logistics. Key responsibilities included checking in donors to verify eligibility, acting as “runners” to escort students to and from their classes, and monitoring donors in the recovery area.
