Fairlawn Elementary’s kindergarten classes had a wonderful time celebrating the conclusion of Benchmark Unit 1 while learning about the life and legacy of Johnny Appleseed during Apple Week! Our young learners enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities that brought their learning to life. Students read engaging apple-themed stories, participated in apple investigations, and explored the many characteristics of apples using their senses. They even used apples to measure themselves, making math learning fun and meaningful! Of course, no Apple Week would be complete without some special apple-themed snacks. Students had the opportunity to connect their classroom learning to real-world experiences while developing important reading, math, science, and vocabulary skills. It was a fun-filled week of exploration, discovery, and learning, and our kindergarten Patriots learned so much along the way! We are so proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
