Palm Pointe Kindergarteners Partner with Firefighters

Palm Pointe Kindergarteners spent a few weeks learning about fire safety. As a part of their lesson, they created “thank you” cards for local firefighters. The cards were sent to a local station who shared them with the crew. The students were SO EXCITED when they received a picture BACK from the firefighters! It was so rewarding to see that their hard work makes a difference to others!

Bayshore’s Students Are Rocking Science

The Earth’s rocks are getting a makeover, courtesy of Mother Nature’s extreme makeover team! Mrs. Enoch’s and Pank’s Writing and Science Lab students simulated the rock cycle with Starburst, turning sediment into sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rock – it’s like rock magic! Bayshore’s junior geologists are rocking this science thing!  

Fall Festival PBIS Event at Manatee K-8

Manatee K-8’s annual Fall Festival celebrates the hard work and adherence to school-wide expectations by students throughout October. Students in grades K-5 cheered on their teachers as they competed in various fun events. Laughter and cheers filled the air as teachers took part in activities like the donut-eating contest and Red Light, Green Light. The festival not only highlighted the students’ achievements but also fostered a sense of community and school spirit. It was a joyful reminder of the bond between students and teachers, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating next year’s festivities!

TCHS Criminal Justice Academy Welcomes Insightful Guest Speaker

FPC Wears Orange for Unity

October 16th marked the annual Wear Orange for commUNITY day! Fort Pierce Central honored the day by joining together wearing orange to share kindness, promote acceptance, encourage inclusion, and prevent bullying. Manatee K-8 PTO Event at Dave and Buster’s

The Manatee K-8 PTO would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our school staff, families, and friends for making our first fundraiser of the year at Dave & Buster’s a tremendous success. Thanks to the advance Power Up card sales and Spirit Night, we raised nearly $1,500! Village Green’s Garden Community Event

VGESS hosted a fabulous Garden Community Event over the weekend, where Village Green families, faculty and staff, and community members came together to help rebuild our beautiful garden. Volunteers helped with cutting branches, planting new trees, and creating paths for students to explore the garden. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who came out to support our efforts to revitalize the garden.  We also donated over 40 banana trees and plants. LPA’s NJHS Serves Our Community

On Tuesday, October 29, Lincoln Park Academy’s National Junior Honor Society contributed 138 cans of Chef Boyardee to The Giving Concert in honor of Grace Packs.  LPA teacher and NJHS adviser, Dr. Rennaker, asked the members to contribute cans to help Grace Packs accumulate food.  Grace Packs is best known for sending backpacks of food and snacks home, with eligible elementary and middle school students, on Fridays.  9th grade LPA students, Olivia Costa and Victoria Townsel, volunteered to pack up the boxes and deliver them to the auditorium.  These members are also working on two contests: club t-shirt design and … Read More

FGMS: Ms. Vasquez Civics Classes Work Together to Learn

Ms. Vasquez’s 7th Grade Civics class worked in groups reading and answering questions, then rotated to different stations. While one student read out loud, the others listened, and then they discussed what could be the best answer. They also participated in a Kagan Strategy (Quiz, Quiz, Trade) to review vocabulary words.  

Bayshore Celebrates Kids at Hope Day With Activities

For Kids At Hope Day, Bayshore Elementary students and staff participated in multiple activities in celebration. In addition to wearing our yellow & blue, our School Counselors appeared on the Morning Show to present the Four Aces Challenge to our students. In the Four Aces Challenge, students were charged with identifying at least two Aces in their lives. One from their home life and one from school. Our teachers also received their own 2×10 KAH Challenge. C.A. Moore had over 300 students who had 95-100% attendance for Quarter 1. Students had a chance to throw a whipped cream pie at the Attendance Team as their reward for coming to school. A MOOOOvelous Day of Genetics Thanks to the Dairy Council of Florida and the St. Lucie Education Foundation

On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, twenty biology teachers from St. Lucie Public Schools engaged in an exceptional professional development session, generously hosted by the Dairy Council of Florida. During this session, educators were trained in the use of a gel electrophoresis machine, a vital tool in genetic studies. This training was contextualized within the dairy farming industry and was complemented by an enlightening tour of a self-sufficient dairy farm in Okeechobee! Curious George & PNC Bank Read with Lawnwood Elementary’s VPK Class

Cynthia Pilloni, Vice President of Community Relations at PNC Bank, read a Curious George book to students in Ms. Frazier and Mrs. Mccuthchen’s VPK classroom. A special appearance was made by Curious George himself. PNC and the Education Foundation of St. Lucie County donated books to all SLPS children as part of the Jumpstart’s 19th annual Read for the Record event where thousands of classrooms, libraries, and communities come together to celebrate early literacy.

FGMS: The Sky’s the Limit-Shopping Spree

Mrs. Proctor’s class went on a shopping spree! Students were working on being able to analyze and use proportional relationships when problem-solving. Students looked up an item on sale, a sporting goods item, and a game/toy to purchase. Students had to choose which coupon they wanted to use for each item, making sure to get the biggest discount possible. Then, students had to calculate how much they would have to pay to purchase their item once the coupon amount was discounted! The sky was the limit, students were buying cars, houses, pools, yachts and so much more.

Frances Peyton, meteorologist from WPTV, came to Village Green on Tuesday, October 29th to converse with all fifth-grade students about their current science topic on Weather and Climate (Unit 3), which is taught by Dr. Jacqueline Venzen and Dr. Thomas Gay. Ms. Peyton and our students were very engaged in a myriad of topics such as the formation of clouds, climate, weather, hurricanes, high-and low-pressure systems, and a variety of other climate and weather-related topics. LPA’s Cross Country Team Competes at District

Congratulations to the LPA Cross Country teams and Coach Adams and Coach Moore, who competed in District Competition this weekend in Fort Myers. The LPA girls placed 6th out of 18 teams and will advance to the Class 2A Region 3 Championships this Thursday. Jacey Lane placed an impressive 9th place overall to lead the girls.
