Incoming Kindergarten students at Chester A. Moore K8 Academy of Success didn’t know they would get to meet the character in their read-aloud when they came to Kindergarten Kick-off this past Wednesday. Curious George (AKA Principal Lexi Laoutas) surprised students with this special visit. Students got to spend the morning with their teachers to see what life will be like in a kindergarten classroom. On January 21st, 5th grade students with 97% attendance (2 days or less absent) or better and no referrals in Quarter 2, were blessed with a grand, catered luncheon and gift bags by Chef Tamesha Hamilton-Spivey. Students entered the transformed cafeteria to see tablecloths, silverware and color coordinated place settings, donated by our Reading Coach Latisha Fuller-Mustafa.  The Fifth-grade students were served ribs, mashed potatoes with gravy, pulled chicken, and corn. C. A. Moore Elementary’s 5th and 6th grade students were sworn into Safety Patrol by our School Resource Officer, Officer Goz. Students had to complete an application and receive recommendations from their teachers in order to be a part of the Safety Patrol. Students were chosen based on their dedication to the school and what their teachers said about them. This year, both 5th and 6th grade students will be a part of the team.
