Bayshore Elementary: CSCSLC Partnered to Support Student Reading

Our School Counseling Team at Bayshore Elementary partnered with Children Services Council of St. Lucie County and Ms. Loudy Mortimer our of our District’s Bilingual Parent Education Program earlier this year to provide a literacy pack for some of our students here at Bayshore. The packs included: a bag, a book, an activity book, importance of literacy information page, comprehension questions for parents to ask students in multiple languages, an information sheet concerning the New World Reading Program in multiple languages, the St. Lucie County Public Library application for each student, and a multilingual information sheet about benefits beyond books … Read More

Captain Wattage Stops by Bayshore Elementary

In November, members of the School Counseling Team coordinated for the National Theater for Children to stop by Bayshore to do a performance for our K-2 students. During this performance, students learned about energy conservation, how we measure energy used, how energy is wasted, and what renewable energy is. During the show, students learned important lessons about energy efficiency, and teachers were provided lessons and activities to prolong the engagement for well after the end of the performance. Bayshore Elementary’s Craft with Counselors Event

Bayshore’s School Counseling Team held their Holiday Craft with the Counselors event. Students got to decorate an Ice Cream Cone Tree, color Charlie Brown coloring pages, decorate a Christmas ornament to take home, have a pizza dinner, & a holiday picture! Students watched Charlie Brown’s Christmas and received a discussion guide about resilience that parents could use to talk to their students about lessons that could be learned from the film once they got home. Bayshore Celebrates Kids at Hope Day With Activities

For Kids At Hope Day, Bayshore Elementary students and staff participated in multiple activities in celebration. In addition to wearing our yellow & blue, our School Counselors appeared on the Morning Show to present the Four Aces Challenge to our students. In the Four Aces Challenge, students were charged with identifying at least two Aces in their lives. One from their home life and one from school.
