Jaguars Sweep the Field: Port St. Lucie High School Takes 1st Place Overall

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Drill Team competed at the Santaluces High School Drill Competition against six other schools on January 9th. The competition consisted of Armed Squad, Unarmed Squad, Male Individual Exhibition, Female Individual Exhibition, LET one squad, Male/Mixed dual exhibition, and Color Guard.  The Jaguars did incredibly well in their first competition of the season. Morningside Elementary Celebrates Kindness Week

Morningside Elementary School proudly kicked off Kindness Week today with a schoolwide celebration focused on compassion and community. Every student took part by signing our large Kindness Quilt, symbolizing our shared commitment to treating one another with respect and empathy. Students wrote messages of kindness on paper chain links. We also launched our collection drive for Grace Packs, gathering Granola and Nutri‑Grain bars to support children in need throughout our community. Bootcamp & Basketball at Centennial! On Friday, January 9th, SLW Centennial High School hosted an exciting afternoon that combined academic focus and school spirit. Students in Algebra 1, Geometry, and ELA (9th & 10th grade)  kicked off with Bootcamp in the cafeteria right after dismissal at 4 PM. Our School Counseling Team at Bayshore Elementary partnered with Children Services Council of St. Lucie County and Ms. Loudy Mortimer our of our District’s Bilingual Parent Education Program earlier this year to provide a literacy pack for some of our students here at Bayshore. In November, members of the School Counseling Team coordinated for the National Theater for Children to stop by Bayshore to do a performance for our K-2 students. During this performance, students learned about energy conservation, how we measure energy used, how energy is wasted, and what renewable energy is. DAR Presentation at Oak Hammock K-8

On January 7th, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) visited Oak Hammock K‑8 for a memorable and inspiring presentation centered on the creation and purpose of the Braille American Flag. This special flag, crafted with raised elements and Braille text, was thoughtfully designed so that individuals who are blind or visually impaired can fully experience the meaning, symbolism, and pride of the American flag through touch. Bayshore Elementary’s Craft with Counselors Event

Bayshore’s School Counseling Team held their Holiday Craft with the Counselors event. Students got to decorate an Ice Cream Cone Tree, color Charlie Brown coloring pages, decorate a Christmas ornament to take home, have a pizza dinner, & a holiday picture! Shark Nation ELA Students are Future CEOs!  Mrs. Howard’s ELA students took on the role of entrepreneurs during our Shark Tank Projects! Students created original products or made an old product better and pitched them using powerful rhetorical devices and emotional appeals to convince the Sharks to invest. They didn’t stop there—each pitch was supported with nonfiction text features such as headings, diagrams, charts, bolded key words, and statistics to clearly present information and strengthen their arguments. This project combined persuasive writing, speaking skills, creativity, and critical thinking—and the confidence these students showed was impressive! Way to go, ELA Sharks!
