Palm Pointe K-8 Launches Literacy Week Big Apple and Books

Palm Pointe K‑8 opened Literacy Week with a well‑attended Big Apple Read to Succeed Family Night at Big Apple Pizza on January 21. The event brought together students and families to celebrate reading, home–school partnership, and community support. Each student selected five complementary books to build a home library, then read alongside a trusted adult and completed a brief book response. Jaguars Sweep the Field: Port St. Lucie High School Takes 1st Place Overall

The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Drill Team competed at the Santaluces High School Drill Competition against six other schools on January 9th. The competition consisted of Armed Squad, Unarmed Squad, Male Individual Exhibition, Female Individual Exhibition, LET one squad, Male/Mixed dual exhibition, and Color Guard.  The Jaguars did incredibly well in their first competition of the season. Fort Pierce Central High School and Band Director Mr. Stephen Gabin are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of band member Jocelyn Hatfield, who was selected to represent the Cobras at the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) Conference as a member of the State Honor Band. The FMEA State Honor Band brings together the most accomplished student musicians from across Florida, forming a single elite ensemble that performs during the association’s annual statewide conference. Treasure Coast High School Titan Theatre Students Join International Thespian Society

Fourteen Treasure Coast High School Titan Theatre students were proudly inducted into the International Thespian Society on Friday, January 9th, earning recognition in the national honor society for high school theatre. Induction into ITS reflects a high level of dedication and accomplishment in the performing arts. Each student earned 10 Thespian points, which represents at least 100 hours of quality theatre work completed during their high school career. Students in Mrs. Garcia’s classroom at FPC worked on their One-Pager Semester Exam Project, an assignment designed to measure critical reading, writing, and analysis skills. After reviewing clear project expectations, students immediately began outlining thesis statements, identifying relevant textual evidence, and planning visual components to support their responses. Throughout the class period, students used laptops, notes, and planning tools to organize their ideas and remain focused on academic goals. Last Friday, the FPC PBIS team hosted a well‑attended reward event titled No Snow Day Sundaes lunch periods. The event recognized students who earned 10 Cobra Pride tickets by inviting them to participate in this special celebration of positive behavior. Eligible students created their own ice cream sundaes and chose from a wide variety of toppings. While having tons of fun, students reviewed and practiced math standards NSO.1.1 and NSO.2.1. Our first-grade students recently took part in an exciting MTSS enrichment experience that combined creativity, collaboration, and literacy development. During this enrichment time, students participated in a hands-on slime-making project that encouraged them to carefully follow directions, practice sequencing, and work cooperatively with their peers.
