Forest Grove Middle School welcomed Gabe Jacas from the University of Illinois (graduate of Fort Pierce Central High School) and Roger Walters from Iowa Western University (graduate of St. Lucie West Centennial High School) to our school. Lincoln Park Academy Wind Symphony members Michael Ferrara (10th), Olivia Ganeto-Pressley (11th), Lucas Huang (10th), Jeno Retutal (11th), and Nash Barcelona (9th) had the incredible honor of performing in the University of Miami Frost Honor Band. The Frost Honor Band Festival brings approximately 150 talented high school instrumentalists from the State of Florida to the University of Miami Frost School of Music for two days of rehearsals, master classes by Frost School artist faculty, and a final concert. Their hard work and passion were on full display as they represented Lincoln Park Academy with pride. Congratulations to these members of the LPA Wind Symphony!

Lawnwood Leopards are celebrating Black History Month while creating lifelong memories through community engagement. Mrs. Collins’ fourth-grade students are always eager to learn about community leaders.  In honor of Black History Month, Mrs. Collins invited Fort Pierce City Commissioner Curtis Johnson Jr. to visit her class. This provided students with a unique opportunity to practice their communication skills by interviewing him. St. Lucie West K8’s School Counseling Department goes above and beyond to advocate and support our students. This past week we celebrated National School Counseling Week. Our School Counselors invited our staff to celebrate throughout the week in our Student Services hallway. St. Lucie West K8 third-graders were pumped for the Super Bowl! Mrs. D’Andrea and Mrs. Schettini’s third-grade AMP Math classes had a Super Bowl-themed Fraction Review Day. Students teamed up to go head-to-head in various fraction-based activities. They rotated around the room to compete individually and to work in teams. Not only were students cooperatively learning to solve real-world math problems, but they were able to show their team spirit as well! Our proud principal, Mr. Lezeau even joined in on the fun! Students are heading towards success by making learning fun and full of Shark Nation spirit!

Palm Pointe sent 10 students to participate in the Regional STEM Fair.  The students presented their projects to three different judges and they were graded on a rubric that laid out all the criteria for the projects.  They presented in different categories and on a variety of topics.  In addition to gaining knowledge on the topic they presented, they learned life skills including meeting deadlines, presenting to others, and working through problems.  Our students did an amazing job, and we are so proud of them. Mosaic Digital Academy Students Participate in the Innovative “Build a Change” Project to Promote Sea Turtle Conservation Efforts and Environmental Awareness Students in grades K-2 engaged in the “Build a Change” project, where they collaborated to brainstorm ideas for supporting sea turtle conservation. These young change makers designed innovative solutions aimed at helping these remarkable creatures thrive. We had an amazing time celebrating Literacy Week at Bayshore Elementary! One of the highlights was the Community Reading Day, where special guest readers from our community joined us to read to the students. St. Lucie West K-8 Math Night for K-5th grade was amazing! Students had a Fin-Tastic time walking through the aisles of Publix, exploring different departments, and solving real-world math problems. It was a fun, hands-on experience that truly brought learning to life. Students thoroughly enjoyed solving problems with their teachers, friends, staff, and our Proud Principal, Mr. Lezeau! It was a wonderful way to bring our families of Shark Nation and community together to emphasize the importance of mathematics in our everyday lives. To kick off literacy week at Palm Pointe, Mrs. Baise’s kindergarten class and Mrs. Garcia-Herrera’s sixth-grade class paired up to read together! The sixth-graders helped the younger students illustrate the book’s cover and a favorite scene from each story. Celebrating the 100th day of school is a fun and educational milestone for students and teachers.
