Palm Pointe students got to enjoy a Family Baseball Night at Clover Park! Students watched the baseball game, Assistant Principal Mr.Keelor got to throw the first pitch, our middle school Vocal Vision choir sang the National Anthem, our elementary chorus sang “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch, and students had the opportunity to the run the bases after the game. It was a fun night had by all!

Fifth graders in Mrs. Portee’s class prepared for their upcoming science assessment on Forces and Changes in Motion through an interactive and collaborative review. The microphone ball was tossed from one classmate to another as they broadcasted their answers to complete the review!  

Third-grade students in Ms. Paries’ class were fully immersed in a dynamic Fear Factor style test prep activity. They collaborated in teams to complete academic challenges! Their enthusiasm peaked as they completed each challenge with their teams. They eagerly reached into the mystery bags for surprise rewards. It was a joy to witness their enthusiasm and hard work throughout the activity!  

Ms. Roberts’s second grade class learned about two-dimensional figures and their attributes. During their geometry lesson they used toothpicks and marshmallows to make their own 2-dimensional shapes. They found the perimeter and how many vertices each shape has!

Congratulations to Retired Lt. Colonel Saxton for being selected for a full scholarship to the Bob and Marion Wilson Teacher Institute from June 16-21 in Williamsburg, Virginia. This year, participants will learn more about “Evolving Perspectives on American Identity: Resistance, Revolution, and Reform (1607–1870).” The intensive Teacher Institute immerses participants in American history while staying in Williamsburg, the restored capital city of eighteenth-century Virginia. We commonly consider JROTC as an honorable, refined service organization. Did you know they volunteer with tech!?! At Fort Pierce Central, JROTC cadets collected and turned in 38 computers for repair. This task took visiting teachers and classrooms all over campus. After repairs were completed by Mr. Albritton FPC’s I.T. consultant, 28 devices have been returned to teachers. Thanks to Retired Lieutenant Colonel Saxton for his Cobra leadership.

On Wednesday, April 17th, the Student Government Association (SGA) transformed Fort Pierce Central’s courtyard into a Cultural Celebration! Cobra Nation embarked on an enriched journey filled with different cultures from around the World! Peru, Haiti, Panama, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, United Arab Emirates, South American countries, Asian countries, and more were represented with flags, artifacts, props, food, and music. Students sampled offerings from table to table and culture to culture using a passport sheet. The 101st Scholastic Art and Writing awards seek students and their work that express authentic perspectives. These elite students soar beyond assignment parameters and social media trends. Adjudicators evaluate works that exemplify the Award’s core values of originality, skill, emergence of personal voice, and artistic vision. On Monday we celebrated the Top Ten Percent of each grade level at our Annual Top Ten Percent Ceremony! We also announced the Top Ten Students in the Class of 2024. Congratulations to all of these students for their academic achievements. Titans Prevail!

This past weekend on Saturday, April 13, 2024, Treasure Coast High School, Fort Pierce Westwood High School, and Southern Oaks Middle School participated in the T.R.E.A.S.U.R.E. Tournament Air Sea Land Challenge, hosted by Treasure Coast High School’s Robotics Team at their school. The event included an aerial scavenger hunt, an augmented reality maze for drones, as well as land and underwater events, which culminated in a Combined Event of all three types. Floresta partnered with the Cox Science Museum to host a fun Family STEAM Night. Families explored twenty interactive science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities.  Chase Dulemba and Jase Hutchinson eagerly designed and tested out their rollercoaster as they learned about force and motion.

Students in Mrs. Lankow’s K-2nd grade class created shape art in support of Autism Acceptance and Awareness Month! Students worked together to create art that demonstrates and symbolizes the importance of love and acceptance! “We are all fish in the sea at Mosaic Digital Academy!”  

Students in Mrs. DaCosta’s 1st grade class reviewed using an analog clock to tell time to the nearest hour and half hour using Twizzlers!

Palm Pointe students who won the March Attendance Challenges got to pie Palm Pointe’s administration team! During the month of March, homerooms in grades K-8 with the highest attendance average and homerooms in grades K-8 with the highest attendance on the early release day in March, proudly earned their spot to pie Mrs. Perez, Mr. Keelor, Ms. Markowitz, and Mrs. Newsome. Students were so excited for this opportunity! The Administrators were pied by over 300 students!
