Southport Middle Celebrates PM2 Growth

At Southport Middle School, students celebrated their PM2 growth with yummy treats!  Students were rewarded for making growth in one subject (reading or math) with chips and Takis.  However, students who made growth in both subjects (reading and math) were rewarded with chips/Takis as well as a Nacho Bar.  The Nacho Bar consisted of chips, meat, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and jalapenos.   Students enjoyed creating their own nachos. Cobra Leadership Techniques Students Sample CTE Programs

Before winter break, Fort Pierce Central freshmen leadership techniques students benefited from in-person visits to sample CTE program offerings. CTE or Career Technical Education courses offer real-world training for students to graduate high school with needed job readiness skills, training, and certificates to enter the working world. These snapshots into Central’s Criminal Justice and Culinary Arts Programs gave students firsthand glimpses into the experience-based and skill-building rigor of these certificate-earning tracks of study. Bayshore Elementary recently celebrated Diwali as part of their “Holidays Around the World” series for kindergarteners. Ms. Budhram’s Diwali presentation, held in the cafeteria, was a highlight of the event, bringing the vibrant festival of lights to life for the young students. At Centennial High School, one of the self-contained classes for students with intellectual disabilities is taking an innovative approach to learning. The class, led by their dedicated teacher, is preparing students to engage in real-life experiences that mirror the everyday lives of citizens. Lawnwood Elementary Enjoys a Night Out at Big Apple Pizza

Students, families, teachers, and staff of Lawnwood Elementary School enjoyed a night of learning at Big Apple Pizza in Fort Pierce. Children were greeted with several book options to choose from. They read and completed a reading comprehension task afterward. When the activity was finished, students were provided pizza and selected a beverage with their families. Girls on the Run at Lawnwood Supports Pace

The Girls on the Run Program is so much more than a running club! Participants not only engage in healthy physical activity while developing confidence and learning life skills, but they also learn about the strength of teamwork and helping others. Huge Holiday Praise goes out to some of our students for doing their part to spread some holiday cheer. Cadets from the FPWA Army JROTC partnered with students from Ms. Granberg’s Emerging Tech in Business Class to participate in the annual “Letters From Home” Project.
