Morningside rolled out the red carpet for a star-studded morning as we kicked off the start of state testing for grades 3-5. Teachers and staff wrote encouraging messages along the red carpet for students to read as they made their way to breakfast and class. It was quite an exciting morning, to say the least! Today, 4th and 5th-grade students completed their PM3 Reading Assessment. Way to go Blue Jays—keep making us proud! #MSEshinesBRIGHT
The PTO at Oak Hammock K8 hosted a Fundraiser Night at Blaze Pizza in Tradition. Students and staff enjoyed an evening of dining with family and friends while raising funds for the school. A great time was had by all who attended .

Volunteering is more than just fulfilling tasks; it’s about showing kindness, compassion, and care. The dedication from our volunteers has made a tangible difference, whether it was helping a student, beautifying our campus, spoiling our teachers, or fostering a sense of community. We showed our appreciation during a special breakfast hosted by our amazing Volunteer Coordinator, Mrs. Sarah Neil in partnership with our outstanding Math Coach, Mrs. Valerie Lindh.
Our Everglades team wanted to spread the word about the importance of the Everglades ecosystem to our community. They used technology to help create information sheets based on the Everglades habitats. Tavola’s Pizzeria on PSL Blvd, a frequent supporter of Morningside Elementary students, agreed to allow us to feature these sheets at their pizzeria. We are so thankful for the community partners that join with us to celebrate the success of our students and help get the word out about the importance of the Everglades.
All Grades 3-5 Parents were invited to attend a Parent Night. Administration, Instructional Coaches, School Counselors, and Teachers facilitated the event. Parents were provided a copy of their child’s Progress Monitoring ELA and Math Score Report and they learned how they can help their student master grade-level content skills. A video was shown to help parents understand computer adaptive testing and parents were provided time to ask questions and discuss concerns. A special thank you goes out to all Lawnwood Parents for attending this informative session and for all that they do to support our school. GO LEOPARDS!
Students in fourth grade were able to hold assistant principal, Mrs. Reid to her word from last year. The grade level with the highest proficiency was able to duct tape her to the wall! The students had a blast taking turns taping her and making sure she didn’t budge! Way to go fourth grade!

Fifth-grade students at Fairlawn Elementary participated in a science boot camp to prepare for their upcoming state science test. Students took part in hands-on experiments and enjoyed healthy competition against one another. Best of luck on your test, we know you will rock it!
The Lincoln Park Academy Spring Centennial Career Expo was such an amazing event. Twenty-three former graduates were featured and also shared their expertise with our high school students. Students were able to converse with our LPA Alumni about the educational requirements for their career, the pros and cons that come along with their job, and also what they love most about their career. On April 27th and May 4th, fifth-grade students from various elementary schools in St. Lucie County had an exciting opportunity to participate in the Saturday with a Scientist event hosted by Indian River State College. Let’s take a quick look at what they experienced. Planetarium Exploration: The students gathered at the planetarium, where they learned about the vastness of our universe, constellations, and the wonders of space. DNA Extraction Adventure: In smaller groups, the students got hands-on with DNA extraction from strawberries. During the past six weeks, MSE students received direction from PSLHS drama students. A love for literacy was promoted through a passion for the fine arts. West Gate K-8’s Literacy team partnered with PBIS to purchase a book vending machine for our Mustangs! Students will exchange PBIS bucks for a literacy coin to purchase a book! On Saturday April 27th, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted our yearly end-of-the-year trip to Aquatica in Orlando, Florida. The cadets stayed overnight in a hotel and left on Sunday, April 28th. Cadets spent a day riding popular rides like the “KareKare Curl” and “RayRush”. The cadets dined at many fabulous restaurants such as “Waterstone Grill” and “Mango Market”. Lakewood Park teachers have taken off with the implementation of our new phonics program UFLI. The interactive, quick-paced program is engaging for all participants. We look forward to analyzing the growth of our students since the inception of UFLI.
Ready, Set, GLOW! SharkNation students had a blast at our PBIS Glow Dance. Their neon energy and smiles illuminated the gym as they danced and enjoyed time with their friends and teachers!
