VGESS Rolls Out the Green Carpet

VGESS Faculty and Staff are thrilled to kick off another amazing year! Village Green’s incredible World Changers strutted down the green carpet, greeted by the cheerful cheers of teachers and staff celebrating their return! We are ready to make this year unforgettable, packed with learning, fun, and adventure. Here’s to new beginnings and a fantastic journey ahead!

Pre-Service Week at Southport Middle School

Teachers had a fun time engaged in a learning activity on empathy where they worked in pairs on a paper plate activity.  This activity demonstrated that you do not always need to know the full picture in order to have empathy.  “Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.” – Alfred Adler.

Open House at Southport

Southport Middle School teachers and staff welcomed our students during open house.  Students met their teachers and visited their new classrooms.  Our new 6th-grade families met in the gym for an orientation presentation, which included information regarding SPMS expectations, curriculum, and school activities/clubs.  Families had the opportunity to clarify transportation needs, sign up for SAC/PTO, and complete meal applications.  Families also took this opportunity to purchase school shirts so our students would be ready for school on Monday!  To beat the heat, our families finished off the night with a refreshing treat from Kona Ice!

A Red-Carpet Welcome at Southern Oaks

Students at Southern Oaks Middle School returned to school for the 2024-2025 school year with much fanfare. Students smiled as they received high-fives, fist bumps, and hugs. Some students stopped for photos and others for interviews. Whether they arrived by car or bus, there was a red carpet awaiting them. There was one running from the parent drop-off zone and one from the bus drop-off loop. Students could immediately step … Read More

Chester A. Moore 2nd Grade Students Create The Silver Lining

Our CAM babies have optimism learning about Iver Anderson who invented lead-free solder. Anderson challenges students to think about the “silver lining”, the thought, the “ah ha” moment when different pieces can be brought together to solve a problem that nobody thought was possible. Often after a rainstorm, the clouds part, and the sun comes out. When the sun shines on the back of the cloud, it is referred to as the silver lining. The sun comes out, the rainbow appears and gives the clouds a Silver Lining

The 2023-2024 Everglades School Champion Awards were announced. Morningside Elementary soared into Gold status for the second year in a row. We are so proud of our bluejays for leading the way in St. Lucie County.
