SLWK8 celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a weeklong spirit week! Culminating in a Zumba dance party for families.  Our PTO was able to coordinate with Moe’s, which graciously donated a coupon for all families attending to get a tasty snack after all the dancing! Last week, the kitchen at Fort Pierce Central High School was full of energy as students enjoyed learning through a hands-on culinary experience led by Chef Strell and Chef Swertfager. The classroom transformed into a professional-grade kitchen, where students rotated through stations focused on fruit cutting, cookie making and decorating, and grilling. Treasure Coast High School’s band earned straight superiors in all categories at Crown Jewel. This is an incredible accomplishment for them and is a testament to their hard work as a whole! NHS Cobras Care! September was National Suicide Awareness and Prevention month. The Fort Pierce Central National Honor Society took an active role in this critically important campaign. During a September meeting, NHS members were given blank colored index cards and asked to write positive affirmations and words of encouragement. These cards were placed on courtyard facing windows for students passing by, transitioning from class to class, to take. These cards were meant to be informative, uplifting, and passed on. Shark Nation was full of energy and excitement during our PBIS Pep Rally! Each grade level showed their pride by wearing their designated colors and bringing incredible school spirit to the event. Our talented cheerleaders kicked things off with an outstanding performance that had the crowd fired up! Fort Pierce Central High School proudly welcomed 51 outstanding students into the National Honor Society (NHS) during a memorable induction ceremony that celebrated scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Kicking off the ceremony, guests enjoyed a reception featuring live music from a talented jazz trio and a vibrant spread of culinary delights. This year, many Cobras will earn their AICE Diplomas, demonstrating mastery across a rigorous curriculum that includes global perspectives, advanced sciences, arts and humanities, and college-level writing. On October 18, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion JROTC proudly served as the color guard for a Professional Golf Association (PGA) golf tournament. The Detail’s participation showcased the school and JROTC program with precision and pride during the ceremony. Third-grade students in Mrs. Martinez’s math class from Weatherbee Elementary had math leap out of the pages of their book to centers posted up around the classroom.  Students are working on Unit Two in math, which focuses on attributes of two-dimensional figures, including points, lines, and quadrilaterals, and understanding the concepts of area and perimeter.  The students enjoyed taking math around the room as they moved from station to station, making area and perimeter come to life, often with real-world problems.  Students also enjoyed working in collaborative groups with their peers to figure out these problems and support each other. … Read More
