Fort Pierce Central High School’s courtyard came alive on Friday as students gathered for the annual Club Rush, held during both A and B lunches. With nearly 30 campus organizations represented, including almost 10 new clubs, the event offered an energetic snapshot of the school’s diverse student life and the many ways students can get involved. Our proud Principal, Mr. Gardner, believes that students should be involved and invested in their high school journey, by so doing, students should join at least one of these three opportunities: a sport, a club, or a Fine Art.
Tables lined the courtyard under bright afternoon sun, each one decorated with posters, props, and student-made displays that showcased the mission and personality of its club. Student leaders greeted their peers with sign‑up sheets, demonstration materials, and plenty of enthusiasm as they worked to share their group’s purpose and recruit new members. Club members held up large hand-painted flowers designating their club. By signing the flower, clubs were participating in FPC’s 2026 “Growth” themed county fair display spearheaded by the National Art Honor Society.
From academically driven honor societies to expressive arts organizations, service clubs, athletic groups, and special‑interest communities, the wide range of options made it easy for students to find a place where they could belong. Many clubs highlighted upcoming projects and events, giving potential members a glimpse of what they could expect in the months ahead. Also featured at Club Rush, was the week’s long opportunity to write down personal notes as a release and place them in a large “Burn Box.” The culminating event was when the Burn Box was placed into the Bon Fire Friday night.
Teachers and staff supporting the event noted the positive energy and strong turnout. Several sponsors remarked on the importance of Club Rush as a way to connect students with opportunities that enhance their high‑school experience—strengthening confidence, building friendships, and fostering leadership. Thanks to Mr. Bradley for keeping the music going and announcements flowing over the mic!
Students circulated from table to table, asking questions, signing up for more information, and chatting with club representatives. By the end of both lunch periods, many organizations reported successful recruitment numbers and renewed excitement for the semester ahead.
2026’s first Club Rush once again showcased the dedication, creativity, and engagement of the Cobra student body. With so many active clubs available, Fort Pierce Central continues to support a thriving campus culture where every student can find a community to grow and shine.
