Thirteen! The Musical – Lincoln Park Academy Theater

The first weekend of November, Lincoln Park Academy Theater presented 13! The Musical. Over the course of seven months, the students worked diligently to learn a plethora of lines, harmonies, and choreography that resulted in an immensely fun and honest performance and a close family bond between cast and crew. This heartwarming show of friendship and morals brought the audience to their feet in applause. It’s safe to say, this hilarious piece of theater was a tremendous toe-tapping success!

LPA Band Student Cameron Slack to All-State

Lincoln Park Academy senior band student Cameron Slack has been selected to perform in the Florida Music Education Association All-State Symphony Orchestra. He will be performing at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa on Saturday, January 12th. Congratulations!  

LPA and Dads: Combo for Success!

On Wed. Sept. 26, we were privileged to host LPA dads as they brought their children to school, showing their committed support in their children’s education and social and emotional well-being. During our time together, we recognized, appreciated, and encouraged dads to continue partnering with LPA and together we will equip “our children” with the knowledge, skills, and desire to succeed. LPA is proud of our dads!

LPA Seniors Commit to Graduate!

On Wednesday, September 5th, Lincoln Park Academy’s entire 12th grade congregated in their auditorium for a Jostens inspired commitment to graduate ceremony to celebrate being a senior and to commit to graduate at the end of the year. Lincoln Park Academy’s Tennis Team Earns Award from the FHSAA

The LPA boys tennis team has been awarded the top Academic All-State Team Award for having the highest combined GPA of all schools in our classification at 3.906. Lincoln Park Academy Student Jamya Wiley Wins Scholarship

Jamya Wiley, 2018 graduate from Lincoln Park Academy, was presented with a $1,700.00 scholarship from the Florida Dairy Farmers on June 11th in Gainesville. Jamya was one of twelve female student athletes from across the state chosen for the Academic All-State Team. Congratulations to Jamya!

LPA Student’s Artwork Displayed at Dali Museum

LPA student Bradley Livingston, is a 10th grader whose artwork, “Lively Toes,” has been accepted for the Dali Museum’s Surrealist Art Exhibit in St. Petersburg, Florida.  His work will be displayed together with 100 juried works shown at “The Marvelous, the Fantastic & the Grotesque” Exhibition, May 19th – August 26, 2018.  Congratulations to Bradley Livingston on a job well done!    

LPA Creative Writers Achieve Top Honors

Students in Ms. Merritt’s Creative Writing Class at Lincoln Park Academy earned several awards in the Indian River State College Annual Creative Writing Contest. Students submitted one original work of writing in the poetry, drama, or short story category. The students’ work was judged by IRSC faculty members, and the awards were received on March 29th at the 2018 Creative Writing Contest Award Ceremony held at IRSC. Lincoln Park Academy Senior Athlete Wins Scholarship

Lincoln Park Academy was recently notified by the FHSAA that Senior Jamya Wiley is one of twelve female finalists for the Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. Jamya will attend a banquet in Gainesville on June 11th and be awarded a $1,700.00 scholarship.  The over-all winner will be announced and will receive an additional $4,600.00. Congratulations and good luck to Jamya!

LPA Studio Art

Students in Ms. Steffens Studio Art classes have been participating in a host of exciting contests, exhibitions and juried shows this school year. Their work has been displayed at the Art Connection in Ft. Pierce, The 3rd Annual Highwaymen Heritage Trail Festival, and the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds.  We were recently notified of several wins in the PSL Drop Savers Poster Contest and are awaiting word on the Doodle4Google contest and the eminent Dali Museum’s Student Surrealist Art Exhibition entries.

LPA Odyssey of the Mind Team Heading to State Competition

The Odyssey of the Mind Team represented LPA on Saturday, March 10th in the Regional competition in West Palm Beach and will be moving on to the State competition on Saturday, April 14th in Orlando. The Team won first place and was additionally awarded an “Omer Award,” which is given to teams “for meeting and exceeding the goals of the Odyssey of the Mind creative problem-solving competition.”

Greyhound History Buffs Win Big!

Congratulations to Lincoln Park Academy’s Academic Team of Rachel Fryer Dommel, Madeleine Sosa, Youry Ulysse, and Andrew Priest on their strong performance this past weekend at the South Florida Championship History Bee & Bowl. Junior Madeleine Sosa qualified for the National History Bee and Senior Rachel Fryer Dommel qualified to compete in the National US History Bee, the National International Geography Bee, and the National US Geography Olympiad! These Greyhound girls will represent LPA at their respective national competitions in Arlington, Virginia this April. Good luck!

Lincoln Park Academy Senior Named Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalist

Lincoln Park Academy senior, Haniya Shareef has been named one of the top 40 a finalists in the Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. As a top 40 finalist, Haniya will receive at least $25,000 in awards. She was selected from a pool of highly qualified entrants based on her project’s scientific rigor and her potential to become world-changing scientific leaders. LPA Student Takes Home Crown in Miss Florida Junior Teen

Congratulations to Lincoln Park Academy 9th grader Breanna Myles for being crowned USA National Miss Florida Junior Teen.  As Miss Florida Junior Teen, Breanna will move on to the USA National Junior Teen competition where she will have the opportunity to win over $200,000 in cash, prizes, and scholarships.   Good luck at the next level, Breanna!

Peace Poster Contest Winners from Lincoln Park Academy

Ms. Duran’s middle school students from Lincoln Park Academy participated in the Lion’s International Peace Poster Contest. First, second, and third place winners were selected by local artist, Debi Crouse. First place was awarded to Kiera Chapman-Martinez (7th). Second place was awarded to Brittney Wolfe (8th). Third place resulted in a tie between Bianca Arcadipane (7th) and Natali Gallegos (6th). Kiera Chapman-Martinez’s poster will advance to represent Lincoln Park Academy in the Peace Poster Contest. The Works of Jim Dine

A collection of artworks from twelve young Lincoln Park Academy artists are being displayed at Art Connection Gallery in the Arcade Building, 101 US-1 (and Orange Ave.) in Ft Pierce.  The students from Lisa Steffens-Smith class have been studying the contemporary artist Jim Dine.  All student work is a representation of the artist. An opening reception has taken place in the gallery.  Exhibitions will be open to the public until November 30th. 2017 Florida Art Education Association Virtual Exhibition Winner!

Caroline Duran, Art Teacher at Lincoln Park Academy has once again qualified as a Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) Member Virtual Exhibition Winner.  Ms. Duran was recognized by the FAEA and her peers at this year’s conference held at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts on October 18th, where she received the Pacon Award for her entry, “Terra Nova,” a ceramic sculpture surfaced with acrylic paint.
