LPA’s Sandy Gomez Wins the BCBS of FL Cheribundi Boca Bowl Art Contest

LPA Senior Callie Zheng is Student of the Month for Fort Pierce Rotary Club

Congratulations to Lincoln Park Academy Senior, Callie Zheng for being selected as Fort Pierce Rotary Club, Student of the Month for October.  Callie is a graduating with a weighted GPA of an awesome 6.22.  She is the daughter of Quan Zheng and Wei Cai. Lincoln Park Academy Students Participate in Unity Day

Lincoln Park Academy students, teachers, and staff participated with millions of people across the country in Unity Day on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, to take a stand against bullying.  By wearing orange, Lincoln Park Academy showed that we believe that no student should be subjected to bullying.  

Lincoln Park Academy Theater Presents…

During the first weekend of October, Lincoln Park Academy produced the musical James and the Giant Peach! This production was a resounding success, attracting audience members of all ages. This fun filled production is full of magic, family and songs that make you want to sing along. The students involved performed with such heart and energy.  It was a beautiful way to spend an evening. LPA MS Students are Committed to Graduate

On Friday, September 27, 2019, Lincoln Park Academy Middle School students participated in the annual Commitment to Graduate “C2G” ceremony. This ceremony reminds students of the caring adults who support them and why they are in school, which is to graduate! After the students shook Mr. Sanabria’s hand, signed a graduate silhouette, and received a keepsake to commemorate the celebration.   This is their declaration that they are their commitment to graduate from high school. Their commitment silhouette will be proudly displayed on campus.  Great job, Greyhounds!  

LPA Middle School Officers Elected

Lincoln Park Academy elected new middle school officers on Friday, September 27th. Candidates campaigned throughout the week, garnering votes for the election. Middle school students voted in their social studies classroom after listening to candidates speeches during the morning announcements. LPA Girls Tennis Wins FHSAA All-State Academic Award

The girls tennis team at Lincoln Park Academy recently won the All-State Academic Team Award from the FHSAA with a combined 3.912 GPA.  Congratulations to the coaches and players. State of the Jobs Scholarship Winner

Ajah English, 12th grader at Lincoln Park Academy, is the recipient of the ” State of the Jobs” Scholarship in the amount of $800.  She is the only recipient from the district.  The scholarship was presented by Leslie Haviland, Director of Student Services, Keiser University; Brian Bauer, Career Source; Pete Tesch, St. Lucie Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County; and Tonya Woodworth, Career Source. Congratulations!    

LPA Theater Hairspray the Musical!

Lincoln Park Academy Theater produced Hairspray the Musical the last week of April 2019. This toe-tapping show was a delight to work on and to see. With over 100 students involved, this show was held very near and dear to many students’ hearts. A timeless story of equality and love, Tracy Turnblad soars to new heights with her hair and her willingness to stand up for what’s right. Over 1,200 attendees traveled through time with LPA to an upbeat world of hairspray and a world of changing dance.    

LPA Speech and Debate Team Make Their Mark

The newly formed Lincoln Park Academy Speech and Debate Team can boast of great accomplishments during its inaugural year as all six members qualified for State and one member qualified for Nationals. Team members Aaron Address, Jennifer Barajas, Daphne Bellot, and Zyla Marc qualified for State in the Program of Oral Interpretation. Alyssa Monaco also qualified for State in the category of Declamation, and Donald Smith qualified for Nationals in Dramatic Interpretation. Coaches Debra Scherer and Stuart Address are proud of the team and looking forward to next year.

LPA Attends State Thespian Festival

During Spring Break of 2019, the Lincoln Park Academy Theater attended the 2019 State Thespian Festival. The level of accomplishment of the students that represented this theater department was the most impressive that it has ever been. Students were awarded with three superior rated scholarship auditions, all of which yielded interviews for colleges with the applicants for scholarships and training programs.  An additional three were superior rated performance pieces, two excellent ratings, and a straight superior rated Top Honors award on the Large Group Musical Performance. LPA Going to State Competition for the 18th Consecutive Year

Congratulations to the Lincoln Park Academy Odyssey of the Mind team! On March 9, 2019, LPA competed in the regional tournament at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach. It was the first time in five years a Division 2 team entered the competitions. The team members are headed to the Florida State Tournament on the campus of the University of Central Florida on April 6, 2019. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from K through 12th grades. Lincoln Park Academy’s Project Citizen Finalists

Two groups led by Civics teachers  Alaina Moise and Tamara Lindo represented Lincoln Park Academy in the Project Citizen Showcase at IRSC on February 14, 2019. The first project entitled “Stop Human Trafficking” was presented by Molly Gillard, Alexis Bentinganan, Jaimy Ponceti, and Dalita Decambre. The second project entitled “Food Inspection Correction” was presented by Raul Pozniak, Ricardo Ramirez, Autumn Thomas, and Gabriel Vandermude. Of the three top spots, both projects placed in the top three to advance to the state competition. Congratulations on your success!

Lincoln Park Academy Peace Poster Show

The Hurston Branch Library will display the artwork of Lincoln Park Academy students grades 6th– 8th from January 15th – February 15th.  The Zora Neale Hurston Branch Library is located at 3008 Avenue D, Fort Pierce, Florida, just west of 29th Street. The student artwork represents individual expressions of peace and justifies why kindness matters in a global sense.  For over three decades, Lions Clubs around the globe have sponsored this “peace” themed art contest for schools and youth groups. LPA GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH IS HONORED

On December 19th, Coach Wendell Adams was honored for winning his 400th girls basketball game. Coach Adams is in his 20th season, and in February 2018 he became the girls basketball all-time wins leader on the Treasure Coast. LPA WRESTLERS TAKE FIRST PLACE

Lincoln Park Academy, for the first time ever, has a wrestling program. On December 22, the Greyhounds took 1st place at the Battle on the Lake tournament hosted by Okeechobee High School. Two LPA wrestlers at the tournament were Rakan and Rayan Abulathou. The brother duo pinned every wrestler they faced. Congratulations to Coach Pryor and all of our Greyhound wrestlers.

MILESTONE FOR LPA BASKETBALL STANDOUT

Lincoln Park Academy Junior Wins Gold Medal

Congratulations to Lincoln Park Academy’s Jonathan Geraghty. Jonathan won his second gold medal at this year’s FHSAA State Dive meet November 17th.  This was the first time since 1955-56 that a Treasure Coast diver has won back-to-back gold medals.
