The River of Life Fellowship Donates to Chester A. Moore Elementary

The River of Life Fellowship in Fort Pierce made a $2,000 donation to Chester A. Moore’s 5th grade on Sunday, October 22, 2023. The donation will be used to support a college tour and end-of-year field trip. Pastor Vernon Shazier, First Lady Shawn Shazier, and the congregation have been long-time supporters of CAM, ensuring students and teachers have supplies, mentors, and community support. Thank you!

The PSLHS Jaguar Battalion’s End of the Year Trip

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion recently experienced an extraordinary trip to Aquatica and SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, from April 25th through April 27th, 2025. This adventure served as a well-deserved reward for the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our cadets throughout the year. The trip package included admission to both parks, all-day dining, hotel accommodations, transportation, and breakfast. On the first day, the cadets enjoyed a full day of waterpark fun at Aquatica. The PSLHS Boys and Girls Community Clean Up

On May 17th, 2025, the Jaguar Battalion successfully executed a clean-up project at the Fort Pierce Boys and Girls Club, uniting schools, JROTC programs, and community volunteers. Cadets reported early to the Fort Pierce Boys and Girls Club, ready to tackle a three-phased operation. The initiative focused on cleaning and beautifying the area, culminating in a groundbreaking ceremony paving the way for future improvements. The event was aimed at enhancing community appearance, fostering, collaboration, landscaping, and beautification of the surrounding area, transforming it into a more welcoming space. The Port St. Lucie Jaguars Conquer Once Again

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed at the Jupiter Raider Meet at Jupiter High School on October 19th. Port St. Lucie High School was amongst 11 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, 35-pound kettlebell carry, a fitness challenge, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Female and Male team captured 1st place overall, keeping a streak of 2 competitions in a row. Both teams and the mixed team will compete in the Southfork High School Raider Meet on October 26th at Southfork High School. 

The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Strikes Again

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Drill Team competed in Santaluces High School Drill Competition against six other schools on January 19th. The competition consisted of Armed Squad, Unarmed Squad, male individual Exhibition, female Individual Exhibition, Let one squad, Male/Mixed dual exhibition, and Color Guard.  The Jaguars did incredibly well in their first competition of the season. Male Unarmed Squad earned 2nd place, Male Armed Squad achieved 3rd place, Male/Mixed dual exhibition took 1st place and Male individual Exhibition placed 2nd. On November 11, 2025, the Port St. Lucie Jaguar Battalion stood with pride at Veteran’s Memorial Park to participate in our community’s deeply moving Veterans Day ceremony. This wasn’t about perfect formation it was about respect. Every Cadet, representing all four Companies, showed up with impeccable military bearing because this tribute meant the world to us. The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Car Wash for a Cause

On November 1, 2025, the Port St Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted a car wash fundraiser to raise money for the Battalion and future events and activities. This group of Cadets worked hard throughout the day, washing cars for community members. The Cadets who participated not only grew closer but also had a lot of fun washing cars. The funds raised from this event will be used to support many Battalion activities and events throughout the year. The Polar Express at Oak Hammock K-8

The 2nd grade students from Ms. Forston, Ms. Blaszkiewicz, and Ms. Aristide’s class at Oak Hammock K-8 are retelling the story of the Polar Express. The students are bringing their excitement and love of reading by comparing the book to the movie. The classes (MySchool and Brick and Mortar) are excited about building their reading comprehension while enjoying their reading and learning together during this holiday season.

The Orlando Science Center Visits Lawnwood

The Orlando Science Center visited for an in-school field trip at Lawnwood Elementary School. 5th-grade students were able to participate in various science labs to deepen their understanding and skills. These hands-on experiences provided students with several real-world examples as connections were made. One example of this was the rollercoaster lab. In the rollercoaster lab, students discussed kinetic and potential energy, friction, and gravity as they considered how rollercoasters move. The fifth grade members of the F.K. Sweet Elementary camera crew meet each morning in the media center to produce and facilitate the morning announcements and news. Crew members are recommended by their teachers based on citizenship and academics. If a scheduled presenter is absent, they are also always ready and able to take their spot to ensure that the daily news goes on without a hitch.

The Million Father March – Take Your Child to School Day

October 7, 2014, was an awesome day for St. Lucie Public Schools as fathers/male care givers went back to school! Rather it was “Donuts with Dads,” “A Fathers’ Rally with a march around the school field” or “Game Night with Dad,” father figures pledged their support to the educational growth of students.
