The Lincoln Park Academy Jazz Ensemble and Steel Drum

‘Pandemonium’ Steel Band represented St. Lucie Public Schools at the Fall Fun Fest on Saturday, October 28th held at the Mid-Florida Event Center. Members of the band were joined by recent alumni who are current music majors. They played various genres ranging from Caribbean, Blues, Swing, Latin, and Funk. Thank you to The Port Saint Lucie Downtown Lions Club for their generous donation which served to support our students traveling to New York City in April 2024.

The Education Foundation Board presented a plaque to Rich and Sherry Kolleda, owners of Spherion, for their dedication and continued support of the St. Lucie County Education Foundation on December 9, 2014. The Jungle Book for Kids

Southport Middle School students put on a magnificent performance of the Disney production The Jungle Book for Kids. It all began with an exciting announcement in early January to Mrs. Dusash’s Exceptional Student Education class that all of her students would have an important part to play in the upcoming drama production of The Jungle Book for Kids. The Jaguars First Rifle Meet

On October 15th, the Port Saint Lucie Jaguar Battalion competed in their first Rifle Match against South Fork High School with A and B teams. The cadets were placed in 3 positions: Prone, Standing, and Kneeling. Out of our 2 teams, team A had 2 of 4 cadets placing 2nd and 3rd overall, Yurem Garcia shot a score of 203 out of 300, and Skylar Warner scored 201 out of 300. Congrats to both teams as they compete again on December 3rd.

 On October 18th, 2024, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion presented the Colors at the Homecoming football game, against South Fork High School. Commanding the Color Guard was National Flag Bearer, Cadet Command Sergeant Major Sharkeisha Johnson, accompanied by Cadet Captain Alex Franchi as State Flag Bearer, Cadet Sergeant Hunter Gale as Right Guard, and Cadet First Sergeant Axel Andrade as Left Guard.

On October 13th, 2023 the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion presented the Colors at the Homecoming football game against Okeechobee High School. Commanding the Color Guard was National Flag Bearer, Cadet Commander Sergeant Major Isaac Mendez accompanied by Cadet Sergeant Sherkeysia Johnson as State Flag Bearer, Cadet Captain Tamiya Ferguson as Right Guard, and Cadet Sergeant Rebecca Guison as Left Guard.  

The Jaguar Battalions First Honor Guard of the year

On Friday, August 18th, 2023, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted their first Football Honor Guard parking detail. They had a total of 85 Cadets who volunteered to direct cars for parking at the Honor Guard. First-year JROTC Cadets had the opportunity to work alongside their leaders and learn how a parking detail works. Leadership placed Cadets in positions to help guide cars and to ensure that all cadets were safe and had an enjoyable time. The Jaguar Battalion’s First Blood Drive

On Thursday, September 12th, 2024, The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted our first Blood Drive of the year. A total of 54 students, teachers, and staff contributed to help save 150+ lives to support the One Blood cause. The cadets that were chosen to help One Blood were assigned different roles, such as the two cadets checking in the students to make sure they were eligible to donate, the “runners” to go out and get the students from class, and lastly, the recovery room to watch and assist whoever donated. The Jaguar Battalion’s 31st Annual Award Ceremony

On Thursday, March 27th, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion held its 31st Annual Award Ceremony. The purpose of this award ceremony was to award deserving Cadets for their service, loyalty, personal appearance, character, and knowledge of JROTC, as well as their outstanding achievements in and outside of the program. Select Cadets were recognized by different Veteran organizations such as MOAA, Vietnam Veterans of America, Korean War Veterans, etc…More awards are also given to the cadets during the company.  The ceremony was a success as there were 38 awards given to honorary cadets for their outstanding achievements.

The Jaguar Battalion Wins Again

On January 20th, 2023, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion traveled to Santaluces High School to participate in the Drill Competition. The females placed 1st in Unarmed Squad, 1st in Armed Squad, 1st in Color Guard, 2nd in Female Dual Exhibition, 2nd in Female Solo Exhibition, and 1st in Let 1 Squad. The Male team placed 1st in Unarmed Squad, 1st in Armed Squad, 1st in Solo Exhibition, and 1st in Dual Exhibition. Overall, the Jaguar Battalion performed great and won 1st place overall.

The Jaguar Battalion Takes a Trip to Aquatica

On Saturday April 27th, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted our yearly end-of-the-year trip to Aquatica in Orlando, Florida. The cadets stayed overnight in a hotel and left on Sunday, April 28th. Cadets spent a day riding popular rides like the “KareKare Curl” and “RayRush”. The cadets dined at many fabulous restaurants such as “Waterstone Grill” and “Mango Market”. On Saturday, March 4th, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion competed against 7 other schools in a Drill competition held at Seminole Ridge Community High School in Westlake, Florida. On September 27, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Raider Team proved their toughness at the Southfork Raider Meet. The cadets delivered an incredible display of skill and perseverance through the event’s demanding physical and tactical challenges. Their performance was a direct result of hard work and disciplined training. The team worked flawlessly together throughout the competition, demonstrating that exceptional teamwork was the core of their success.
