The students of White City Elementary have created a Black History Hall of Fame which celebrates the accomplishments of African Americans. Students are learning about the contributions of influential African Americans. Classes are conducting research and discovering the accomplishments of historical figures.

The Industrial Biotechnology program (Mr. John Williams’ students) at Treasure Coast High School (TCHS) collaborated with Keiser University’s Biotechnology department. This virtual lab session was led by Dr. Weir of Keiser University to provide a simulated lab experience for the TCHS students preparing for their Biotechnician Assistant industry certification exam.
During the first year of the Port Saint Lucie High School’s Biomedical Program taught by Ms. Irene Ruiz, students are introduced to “The Case of Anna Garcia.” Students spend the year solving the case of this fictitious character, reading through autopsy reports, medical records, and learning about her medical conditions. On Tuesday, 9.18.2018, Bridget Coghlan, from St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit, came to speak to the students about crime scene investigating, fingerprinting, and analyzing blood spatters at the scene. Morningside Elementary PBIS team hosted their very first Bingo for books to reward students with books and to inform parents about our behavior procedures for the classroom, hallway, cafeteria and playground. Parents, grandparents and friends joined their children for an evening of fun, food, and at least two books per student.
Bingo for Books was a blast at Lawnwood Elementary last week! Students and their families played bingo to build their home library collection. Thank you to all of those who came out to participate and make this event a success!
Bayshore students had an opportunity to participate in a fun game of BINGO. This schoolwide PBIS event was a blast!!!
Weatherbee’s PBS/Kids at Hope Bingo for Books event was a smashing success! Over 500 students participated in playing bingo and many won books for their efforts. Thanks to the media center for donating books for the event. Several thanks to our PBS-Events Committee for organizing such a fun activity for our students. Our October event will be an Ice Cream Social. YUM!

The Florida Health Department offered a valuable program focused on bike safety for students at Morningside Elementary. Participants learned the importance of wearing helmets, bright clothing, and appropriate footwear to enhance visibility and protection while cycling.
