Bike and Pedestrian Safety Tips

St. Lucie Public Schools recognizes that bicycle riding is a fun, healthy, and great way to get to school. But it is important to remember that a bicycle is not a toy; it’s a vehicle!

Follow some basic safety tips when you ride:
  1. Always wear your helmet.
  2. Obey all traffic laws.
  3. Be careful in and around driveways.
  4. Always watch where you are going.

  3. Look both left and right to cross the street.
  4. Cross streets at a corner, using traffic signals and crosswalks whenever possible.
